Yep, Dr. Stephey will check you for 20/20 vision and healthy eyes, but that is just the very beginning of the process. Beyond that exists an entire world of vision that helps you move, look, and listen in a fast, accurate, effortless, sustainable, age-appropriate, meaningful way. When was the last time you had your "eyes checked"?
Did you get your visual memory, eye focusing, eye teaming, eye tracking, motor planning, visual auditory, binocular dissonance, primitive reflexes, visual attention, visual motor, processing speed, and visual vestibular checked, too? If you have undiagnosed or untreated vision problems, vision therapy combined with specific low-powered lenses and / or prisms can improve your ability to function in life.

Dr. Stephey thinks of himself as simply an optometrist doing the job he was trained to do. But that doesn't explain what's different about Dr. Stephey. Most eye doctors limit their practice to the intersection of two circles or areas: 1. Can you see 20/20? and 2. Are your eyes healthy?
Neurodevelopmental or behavioral optometrists, such as Dr. Stephey explore a third circle that's rich with insight into why a person may be struggling to function at maximum capacity. If you aren't functioning optimally, even if you've seen an optometrist for years, you may have a "third circle" issue that's making your life harder than it needs to be.

The Move Look & Listen Podcast will educate you about common eye problems, how nutrition plays a key role in your vision health, what exactly is 20/20 vision and why seeing 20/20 is not enough to move, look, and listen with ease throughout your life. The podcast covers a wide range of topics related to vision and the underlying factors that impact our ability to function at our potential.
You've probably seen the power of color at work in your life many times: the way a color brightens up a room or your mood, the way you respond positively or negatively to certain colors, the way color seems to calm you or excite you. Dr. Stephey sees the power of color every day in his office as colored lenses are one of the tools that he regularly uses to help his patients see well and be well.
Dr. Stephey takes a holistic approach to treating his patients. He recognizes that brain function impacts vision function. Healthy cells produce optimal brain functioning. The Brainspan at-home test kit allows patients to test three important markers of cellular health: the Omega-3 Index, the AA:EPA Index, and the Carbometabolic (Palmitic Acid) Index.
Dr. Stephey welcomes new patients of all ages (from 3 months of age to 100) to his practice. Expect Dr. Stephey to dig deeper than 20/20 and the health of your eyes. Dr. Stephey will conduct a comprehensive neurodevelopmental/ behavioral eye exam to help you see well and be well. By taking a holistic approach to vision, Dr. Stephey can help you improve not just your vision but your quality of life too.

OMG! My visit today was amazing. I went in terrified and came out knowing more than I ever thought I could know about my eyes and brain. You can definitely tell he loves what he does and he really cares about people. I will NEVER go anywhere else from now on. His staff got me in right away and was so friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for an eye doctor.....even if you don't think you are, you should definitely go see Dr Stephey. THE BEST

I go to Dr. Stephy because he spends more time with you than the average optometrist at Costco or the mall. I was having fatigue, headaches, dizziness and unable to concentrate. It took me 10 years to rule out depression and narrowed it down due to my sight. He showed me his recommendation vs what I had and it mad a night and day difference on my ability to read. I audibly gasped when I saw how the words on the book were not annoying to read anymore. Stop wasting time. Please don't go anywhere else. Go to Dr. Stephy if you want a thorough, above and beyond, kind, eye-opening eye care. Seriously

I’ve been seeing Dr Stephey off and on for the past few years for double vision. This is the most well informed specialist I have EVER met. He has tons of articles he offers to share. His passion for his patients can’t be compared.
There are very few that specialize in this field.
I was blessed. His bedside manners are impeccable.
He is extremely compassionate and not in it for the money. He takes many insurances. I have Kaiser and it wouldn’t cover the visits so I paid out of pocket.
The diagnostic evaluation fee is reasonable. He provided me the vision therapy program and even installed

I've been wearing glasses since I was about 5 years old and I have never had such a comprehensive eye exam till now. Dr. Stephey is by far the best eye doctor I've ever been to. I'm excited about my new glass and can't wait to see the difference a real prescription makes. You'd be surprised how much your vision affects your mental state. Dr. Stephey is an eye doctor god. His staff is also absolutely wonderful.

At a very early age I was diagnosed with ambylopia and astigmatism, I wore glasses since I was around the age of Five years old and loathed looking at anything with or without glasses. Everyday was a struggle and just felt like a grueling chore to go to school, reading, tests, and trying to take notes looking at a chalkboard was just... Terrible.
Around middle school I went to SoCal Eye center where they diagnosed me with ambylopia and astigmatism yet again, we got referrals to see an optometrist in LA but to no avail they could provide no assistance to my cause. At this point I lost hope, and

The best optometrist EVER. He is the reason why my family and I are academically perceiving because of his skill. He has the most extensive knowledge of education, special education and learning disability I have ever encountered. He helped us when I felt no hope was available. If you suspect that you may have a learning disability make a call.
I was diagnosed in my 30s in graduate school. He helped my family. I will always be grateful.
