At San Dimas Optometry, each member of our vision care team is selected by Dr. Richard Garratt based upon his or her experience, professional demeanor, and dedication to providing personalized care to our optometry patients. Dr. Garratt graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 1983. He served in the United States Navy before establishing his practice in San Dimas in 1989. Dr. Garratt is board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease. He is a member of the American Optometric Association as well as the California Optometric Association.
Our very helpful, hardworking, and friendly staff plays an essential role in making sure your visit run smoothly. I have been a customer fifteen years. After my experience with the staff in the last two days I have decided to go elsewhere. I called on January 4, 2022 to schedule an appointment. The girl on the line stated that I was jot in their system. After verification of my info it was determined that she got both my name and birthday entered wrong. After reviewing my account she stated that I was not eligible for services until after Jan 12. I said that's fine can I schedule an appointment. This office use to have higher standards. New staff, poor customer service. They act like their there for a paycheck with no regard for any of patients that keep this business running, no warmth, understanding or even an ounce of friendly demeanor. They answer the phone well but when you go in it's a different story. And during Covid, one of the girls had the longest fake nails, super unhygienic. I've been coming to San Dimas Optometry for over two decades and within the last two years, I feel as though the quality of service here has dropped dramatically. The doctors are amazing, but the rest of the experience here has been such a headache.

I searched around in the surrounding area to find a place that had a reasonable price. These guys were extremely fair got what I wanted For half the price of bigger named places. Will definitely be coming back and I would suggest this place to anyone.Very clean and professional. During covid pandemic running a very tight ship.

I came to San Dimas optometry in October 10, 2019 for my eye exam to get a new rx because my old rx was outdated. I looked for glasses, but when I went to purchase I found out that my rx wasn't on the paperwork the optometrist's office had given me. They had given me a receipt only and left the rx off. I called the office to get the rx and was told it would be emailed to me the next day December 12, 2019.

I work Monday-Friday they are not open on weekends so I made an appointment on one of their "open late Tuesdays" my appointment was at 5:30pm.
On my way from work.. I reached the addresses at 5:24pm couldn't find the place, I called the office for clarification and receptionist was unclear on how I could find the place. Don't forget to read the fine print they NEVER tell you about...then decide to charge you more money...then tell you they are doing you a favor by not charging you an appointment fee......don't bother going here...they are rude, they go on and on about how I didn't call back, yet I had to call them back myself twice because "we will give you a call back" never happened...felt the girl spent more time lecturing me like a child...thanks for using up my yearly appointment for nothing, there is no customer service here...what an awful experiencethanks for nothing!

I have been to multiple Optometry offices over the 23 yr since I needed classes. Dr. Henwood by far explains the results of the test thoroughly. I was impress with all the great staff too. Clean and beautiful office. Looking forward to my new glasses. As a DDS my eyes are important. I now have a eye Doc that I can trust.

Worst customer service and highest prices I’ve ever experienced for an optometrist, even being private. Also, make sure you put aside a couple hours for even a quick check-up because NO one in this office has enough respect to move in even a somewhat timely manner. 2 and a half hours later with a “new” prescription that isn’t correct.

Really nice staff for the most part. However the first lady that helped me decide on glasses would have made me give a 1 star review but Ricki completely made my experience an amazing one. She is great friendly patient informative well spoken. She is a great asset to this place and it’s customers!! If not for Ricki I would have left without getting glasses. Ask for her help when you use this eye doctor. Really truly a great person!!

I have been to a few optometry offices and San Dimas Optometry sets the standard at which all others should follow! Knowledgeable and wonderful staff. Every aspect of our visit from making appointments with the front office ladies, to needing help with picking glasses out with the help of the girls who work the back office. To the techs who do the start up eye exams. Right down to how nice and professional the Dr's are... I wouldn't trust my eyes with any one else that I even bring my whole family here. One of my children has ADHD and the staff at San Dimas worked so well with his upbeat

I can see now !!!! My vision was so horrible before I came to Dr. Garrats Optometry office I had trouble reading at times but I am so glad I came here the staff is very nice and helpful. I asked them questions and they were nice enough to answer them.
I cannot express how satisfied I am with this optometry office. I had been to 3 other optometrist and this happens to be the best optometry office it's clean and nice as well.

First time ever having an eye exam. Staff was warm, welcoming and friendly as was the doctor. Everything was explained to me very well and my options were presented in a manner I could understand. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone looking for an eye doctor. You won't be disappointed!

I understand how insurance works and it was the fact you miss informed me and being a college student I was not planning on the difference in the deductible which Is why I called three times to make sure what I would be paying the day I came in. instead of honoring your mistake your staff proceeded to yell at me and talk down on me it amazes me how I give you a review and then you want to be nice to me and the fact that dr garret and the other dr herd how I was being spoken and did nothing just goes to show what kind of place your office really is it makes sense why the place goes through so many
