The Pines Motel * Guest Haus has been in the Frantz / Nielson family for nearly 50 years. We're John and Nancy Nielson, and our goal is to offer you true hospitality at an affordable price. The atmosphere is that of a small European guesthouse that's surrounded by an acre of tree-covered lawn.
Whether your aim is a quick get-away to enjoy that famous Targhee powder, a week exploring the Teton / Yellowstone area or a family reunion, we think you'll find yourself at home with us.We love to travel, wandering the back roads in our SUV to see what we can discover, or visiting one of our children somewhere around the world.

Services
The Pines Motel is located conveniently in downtown Driggs, ID. Most everything in Driggs is within walking distance and Grand Targhee is just 20 minutes away. We're located on HWY 33, one block south of the only stoplight in Driggs. We're across the street from the U.S. Bank and Broulim's grocery store, and just north of the red Wells Fargo Bank.
My mom (Rosemary) passed on about two years ago. Many of you who stayed at the Pines in the 70's and 80's may remember her and my dad (Charles) who ran this place together for almost twenty years. I thought they'd owned it forever, but now John and I will begin our 30th year here in June. What a ride it's been, and what an example of steadfastness and compassion my folks were to us!

Could not have had a better experience at Pines Motel - Guest Haus. John and Nancy were so kind and generous! Our room was clean, quiet and extremely comfortable. As first time visitors to Driggs from Minneapolis, Minnesota we were welcomed with open arms. Will recommend for anyone planning a trip and hope we can we back again soon! Even better if we could hit the slopes and get some tips from John and Nancy!

My husband and I planned poorly when we drove through Yellowstone on our trip from Seattle to New Jersey. Late at night, after finding nowhere within our budget with any vacancies in Jackson Hole, he found the Pines Motel Guest Haus. The room was comfortable, and the owners were incredibly friendly. And we couldn’t believe how low the cost was! There was a shared bathroom but we didn’t run into anyone else or have any issues with that. We were so glad to have somewhere to sleep—and with wifi! (I was on Sprint and hadn’t had any cell service outside major cities in all of Montana, Wyoming

We loved our stay here. The hosts were very kind and gracious. We came in later than expected, we were running a little late checking out, and we forgot something in the room and they were helpful and kind in all situations. The room was quaint and clean. A fridge and microwave were provided in the room. They also have a hot tub. They do not offer continental breakfast, but there are restraunts in the area. It is about an hour drive to The Grand Tetons and the best price in the area. The bed was very comfortable. We were happy with our stay, and we would stay here again!

Excellent place! The room was adorable and clean, and the service was fantastic. She was there for us at 2am to get us a room at the last minute. It's obvious that they take really good care of the place and have a lot of pride in it. If we're ever back in the area, we will definitely be staying again! The price was also extremely reasonable. Thank you for saving our trip!

The place great, very homey and the owners a nice, then again we're related so. Anyway in general they are kind, respectful, and helpful if you need anything. The rooms are cozy altho look slightly odd, and the bathroom is nice and clean. The whole place smells a little like old people but its not too bad. Overall I think its a great place to stay.
