Exploring the answer to that will provide you with choices as to what you may need to give up, and what you must embrace to be able to manage your stress. As you have heard, not all stress is harmful. In fact, some stress is key to motivating us to be successful. Positive stress is called "eustress."
Clients will often meet with me in order to accomplish a specific goal. These goals may range from transitioning to a new career, quitting smoking, or becoming more assertive. Coaching differs from psychotherapy in that it is primarily focused on achieving a specific aspiration. When your progress gets derailed, coaching examines the blocks that get in your way and what needs to be addressed so that the barriers are removed.
I have been working with couples for over 30 years, and have extensive training in the Gottman Method (a scientific approach to relationship counseling). Whatever brings a couple into therapy, they are typically feeling a strain in their relationship, and are unsure how to overcome the distance.
