Services
AKC Family Dog is a comprehensive good manners program for all dogs. While participating in enjoyable activities that are fun for both dogs and people, dogs become well-socialized and develop a lifelong bond with their owners. Within the AKC Family Dog organizational umbrella are programs that teach family members how to best communicate with their dogs.
Our Puppy School Program is designed to be force-free, positive reinforcement based learning. In 12 weeks, puppies will learn basic commands, obedience, impulse control, recall and on-leash walking. You and your puppy will have the attention of a certified dog trainer and AKC Certified Evaluator, they will be supervised, exercised and socialized while learning foundational skills with other dogs and puppies.

We understand life and it's many challenges, many of our clients live busy lives with work, school, kids, homework, family, friends, and other commitment, it's hard to find time to learn to train a puppy. Our certified, experienced trainers will welcome your puppy or dog into their homes and treat them as their own.
Our outdoors daycare is day-camp, but with qualified trainers teaching your dog. We are socialization experts - trainers who operate a daycare program with the highest standards in Long Beach. Designed by us; we focus on exercising and maintaining skills for well-socialized dogs, and expanding on their knowledge and training.

We are passionate about educating our community on the humane treatment of animals while using force-free dog training techniques. We found Carlos from a neighbor referral. Our rescue, Rex, began exhibiting aggression and reactivity around 10 months of age. He came out and assessed Rex and advised advanced training. Carlos is professional, kind, a great listener, and can truly emphasize with your experiences. His training methods were right in line with what we were looking for, which is force-free LIMA methodology. After 6 months, Rex is able to do community pack walks and his confidence has greatly increased. Most importantly, we feel in control and he taught us valuable tools to use with our pup. Our walks are so calm now

I am very happy with K9 high school! We ended up getting a 1 year old rescued pit mix right before the quarantine happened. Due to social distancing she wasn't able to socialize except with our two small dogs and cat(which she loves and is super kind and gentle towards). To our surprise, she began to be super reactive and intense towards other dogs on leash. We were concerned that she may have leash aggression and worried about letting her met new dogs. We contacted K9 high school, and they did an evaluation of her, and then took her to meet the pack to see how she responded to see if she would

I found K9 HS after searching in depth for a trainer for my puppy. I could tell right away how professional Carlos was because he called me right after I submitted an inquiry. Carlos knows his stuff and he is generous with his time and really cares about your pups. Not to mention the additional video group training on Saturday. My husky is completely manageable and getting better with every puppy training class. The whole process has just felt very white glove.
