Our collective belief is that none of us were ever meant to walk this journey alone. Our therapists aim to ensure that every client is heard, understood, and supported.

Recent studies show that 32% of Americans have sought counseling in their lifetime. Despite this, there is often still a stigma attached to seeking mental health services.

In today's fast-paced and stress-filled world, we believe our clients should have the ability to easily and quickly access counseling services with qualified, experienced and licensed professionals. We also understand that if you have never sought counseling services, the process can seem a bit intimidating.
Oftentimes when people are asked what the biggest barriers to receiving mental health support are, their answer is related to cost. It's true that counseling services can be costly. At Counseling Center of West Michigan we not only believe that every person can benefit from counseling, but that every person should have access to quality counseling services no matter their financial situation.
We know that walking into a new office to meet with a therapist can be a little overwhelming. We make every effort to ensure your experience at Counseling Center of West Michigan is a positive one. At your first appointment, you will check in with our front desk receptionist who will greet you warmly and take a copy of your insurance card and ID.
I created Counseling Center of West Michigan with two primary goals in mind: to offer the best possible experience for our clients and the best possible work experience for our therapists, which allows them to focus on you, our clients. I hope that you find our support staff is ready to serve you and our therapists are ready to partner with you.
Counseling Center of West Michigan was founded in 2019 in Grand Rapids, Michigan by a therapist who couldn't find a desirable workplace in the area and thus decided to create one. After surveying over 200 private practice therapists, learning about their experiences in PP and their "wish list" for the ideal workplace, CCWM was born.

The team of professionals at counseling center of WM are all wonderful. From walking in to walking out, it is palpable how much they care about their jobs and providing all their patients with the best possible experience. They assist me in working with my insurance and making me aware of any copay ahead of time. Beautiful campus and comfortable environment with empathetic staff. Happy to have found this place.

This place is a joke. They have no issue cancelling your appointments multiple times with 4 hours or less notice after weeks of waiting. Will lie about insurance coverages and balances “owed”. This place is a waste of time if you are actually trying to make an appointment.
Edit. To add insult to injury. I just received a call from the office manager who wants to argue the matter after I have already said that I do not wish to attempt a FOURTH appointment. After explaining I do not want to argue she states “well it sounds like you don’t want to remove your Google review so I guess we will

They charged well over $100 for a single hour session out of pocket (this may be my insurence's fault but still frustrating). The therapist contacted me less than 12 hour before our 2nd session to inform me he was dropping me after the session. When I asked to be set up with a new therapist the company never contacted me. I decided I was better off looking somewhere else.

I can't give this place 0 stars so 1 will do. Between getting CONSTANTLY shuffled around, and literally ZERO availability for ANYONE at just about ANY facility, I just don't even know what to do anymore. Combine that with basically being forced to drive 35-45 minutes ONE WAY to even be seen is just a complete disgrace.
These people probably cause more mental health deaths than they prevent. Even more to the point, when they say "we'll call you to reschedule", after they ask you to reschedule, and then a week+ goes by and you have to call, and then they say "oh, nearest we can see you is the 29th

The first thing that warrants five stars for this counseling center is the daycare option they provide if you have kiddos! As a single mama this is an amazing service they offer to make getting scheduled much easier!
Secondly, you feel like your at home when you are there! The staff was very friendly and helpful making it very easy to get started! They also have such a wide spectrum of therapist in order to accommodate your particular needs!
