My name is Aaron Flores and I am a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) in Calabasas, CA. I specialize in Intuitive Eating, Health at Every Size and helping clients reclaim Body Trust. My goal is to help you leave behind the world of diets and body shame and instead embrace your relationship with food and your body with curiosity, self-compassion and empathy.
This is a revolutionary approach, especially in our diet-obsessed culture.

I graduated with a BS in Family Consumer Sciences in 2006. Upon graduation, I completed my dietetic internship at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. My goal in working with clients is to help them re-learn what it means to be an Intuitive Eater and to reclaim Body Trust. Our current food environment and body image focused culture have created a perfect storm where we have become fearful of food and bodies.
Above all other things in my work, my goal is to "Do No Harm." It seems like a simple and even obvious goal, but the truth of the matter is this, many practices in my profession, that seem well intentioned, are actually doing harm. I refuse to be a part of those practices. My next and equally important goal is to foster a healing environment with my clients.
I believe that the pursuit of weight loss is a behavior that comes from the shame we feel that our bodies don't fit within what is considered ideal. I believe that our focus on perfect health is causing us to lose connection with our body's internal wisdom. I believe there no good or bad foods.
All foods should be emotionally equal and when we label foods in good versus bad terms, we internalize that label which leads us to either praising or shaming our eating habits.I believe that we need to change how we talk about bodies with each other. We need to learn how to share our vulnerability around our body image and that through that connection, we can begin to heal.

I offer in-person sessions in my office in Calabasas, CA and offer coaching appointments via Skype or Zoom. Seeing a dietitian or a nutritionist can be a difficult step. This profession has a history of being judgmental, biased and shaming. I bring none of those things to my work. Key words that are always present in my office are compassion, curiosity and empathy.

Another 5 star review for Aaron! He was so helpful, so compassionate, so knowledgable, and so committed to helping me find my way back to intuitive eating. I happen to live in Los Angeles but even so we conducted most of our appointments on Skype and it was still very satisfying. I would encourage anyone interested in working on their relationship with food and eating--no matter where you are--to make an appointment with Aaron now.

I don't have enough superlatives in my vocabulary to adequately describe Aaron Flores. I am not exaggerating when I say he has changed my life. I knew I had issues with food before, but I never really understood the "why" until I met with him. Once we got to the issues of "why", we were able to move on from there, and I was able to change my relationship with food, and myself. Aaron teaches Intuitive Eating, an "anti-diet" approach to food that is truly the only long-term, healthy approach to food anyone should have. He believes in "health at any size"

I feel very lucky to be working with Aaron Flores as my registered dietitian. He has taught me the fundamentals of Intuitive Eating, and opened the door to living a more mindful everyday life. His sessions feel a lot like food therapy, as he cares about the big picture, and not just the food on your plate. Of course, we tackle nutrition, but we spend just as much time on body image and self-care practices, as well. During each of our sessions, Aaron's absolute strength is asking me the questions that lead to huge revelations about the origins of my behavior towards food and the root of body
