Precautions in practicing the four Sublime States of the Mind (Brahmavihr): Be careful of the close enemies of these four dharmas, which are: 1. Lust is the close enemy of loving-kindness (mett).2. Sorrow & regret is the close enemy of compassion (karun).3. Examine yourself before bedtime each night, take a few minutes to meditate upon your day.

Reflect on everything you have done throughout the day, from the time you wake up, to the time you go to bed (i.e., waking, eating, working, meditating, keeping the precepts, giving alms). Reflect on how.
Services
The Meditation Center of D.C. (M.D.C) is a non-profit organization and a Buddhist temple, whose primary purpose is teaching meditation. It is our conviction that individual peacefulness of mind underlies the collective potential for harmony and peace in the world. M.D.C. operates under the Dhammakaya Foundation, headquarters in Thailand, a non-governmental organization of the United Nations.
The 124th birth anniversary of the great master Pramongkolthepmuni (Sodh Candasaro), the former abbot of Paknam temple and the re-discoverer of Vijja Dhammakaya, the genuine teaching of the Lord Buddha which had been lost for more than 2,000 years, is coming in a few days. If we view his birth only as a kind of natural birth of humans, we will find nothing special.
Join our Wednesday meditation session on facebook live. The purpose of this session is to introduce middle way meditation to beginner who never meditate with us before and/or who have learned meditation technique from other's establishments. The buddhist monk will give a guided meditation for 40 minutes.
In order to make your visit as enjoyable and personally rewarding as possible, I would like to introduce and explain a few guidelines to enable us to all meditate together happily and harmoniously. During the meditation session, please be mindful of others. Silence is greatly appreciate. Should you need to change the sitting posture or move around, please do so very quietly so that you will not disturb the people around you.
We offer in individual and group sessions. We have one or two one-day retreats per year. Each meditation session generally held in guided meditation. Middle Way Meditation uses mantra "Samma Arahung" and/or visualize crystal ball at the 7th base to still our mind. We do not charge meditation and Dhamma instruction.

I have been going here on and off for a couple of years but decided to start going more often. I try to go as much as possible. Everyone is very nice and understanding. Sometimes I go on Saturday at 3 or in the evenings but mostly during the day. I talked with Rose and she was very helpful. The Monks will sit with you personally if you get in touch with Rose or May. They really helped me built consistency in my practice. I hope to see you there.
