Services
Sensei Tommy Hood is one of the most decorated US karate athletes and now US Team Coach. Sensei Hood has developed a program for every age level to challenge and bring the best out of each individual student. Meets one day per week for 30 minutes. Excellent course for learning structure of karate class, following directions, and coordination.
We will educate you on personal protection, environmental awareness, home security and practical self defense techniques. Essential information that every woman should know. Cost is $20 per person. This class is intended for adults ages 14 and over, both men and women are welcome! This is a beginner self-defense for all fitness levels.
When you take Kickboxing Fitness classes at Carolina Karate, you'll be whipped into the best shape of your life faster than you ever thought possible. You'll be sliding into your skinny jeans in no time, as your unwanted fat and flab begins melting away with your very first class! Our Kickboxing Fitness classes are unmatched by any other fitness program you'll find.
Competitors much pick up their competitor pass before the competition at the registration desk. White uniform with only the AAU patch on the left chest, no piping. Belts should be white, green, brown, or black only. Required for all: White hand pads and mouthguard; Youth requirement (ages 17 and under): helmet with clear face shield.

Quite simply the best dojo around. Our 9 year absolutely loved the structure, class size, and community that is developed within each class. As a parent, you can’t beat the pricing. Also the ability to leave your child there during class to run a few errands is a great plus. Overall, if you or your child is interested in learning karate from the best around then look no further than Carolina Karate.

Four years ago, my eight year old daughter begged us to take karate lessons. We thought it was a little strange, but wanted to be supportive, so we enrolled her in classes. What a gift Carolina Karate has been to her! This dojo is so incredible supportive. The families are diverse and inclusive... we couldn’t ask for a better experience or a better “karate family”. Fast forward to today - she’s testing for her high purple belt this afternoon!

The entire staff is great!
Our family has been with Carolina Karate for two years now and we have enjoyed every second. It started with our son, then soon after our daughter saw how much fun the classes were and she decided to join. Not long ago my husband joined the adult classes and before long our new baby and myself should be right there with them.
This is a very family oriented dojo. I recommend it to anyone, from the professional athlete looking for the best training in town to the family looking for a sports activity that will instill discipline and the love for being active and staying
