I have only heard exceptional things. however, when calling in to check on the seamstress' availability so that i may bring my wife in, the young lady on the phone states that "...we do not do this for men, not for men, we can not do this for men..." and hangs up.
can not emphasize this enough, there is probably a great experience to be had, if only i could get someone else to answer the phone. this is supposed to be a surprise for my wife, so having her call in is not in the cards. looks like i will be having another female family member call in on my behalf.

Amazing as usual! She knows just what I need even when I come in with 4 requests and need 2 of the dresses back asap for a wedding next weekend. She's a real pro. I've had 2 dresses done here in the past (one of which she literally took down a whole size and installed a bra), 3 more this summer, and I'll always come here for all my bridesmaid dresses!

I've been Clara's customer for over 20 years. She spends nights and weekends to complete the work on time. She just loves when her customers are happy. However, she simply says she can't do it when she finds that is 'impossible'. I saw a lady at the store who was extremely mad because Clara told her she couldn't do it....such as fixing size XXXL to S in 1 day. I am bringing my daughter's prom dress this year as she had done for my wedding gown, 3 cocktail dresses, 1 evening Christmas dress and many other fancy clothes. I now live in Sugar Hill area but still go to her shop for something my dry

Highly recommend!! She cleaned and preserved my wedding gown far beyond my expectations for a super reasonable price. I waited over a year after my wedding to get my dress cleaned (oops). It was quite dirty from dancing, dirt, etc and I was nervous these stains would be set in, but she got them all out and it looks brand new!

This location is WONDERFUL for wedding or special occasion alterations. She altered my bridesmaids dress for a wedding in 6 days and she did it perfectly. Not only is she very good at what she does but she is so nice and she really cares. Will be using for any alterations needed in the future and I highly recommend!!

Mrs. Clara is amazing! She made my wedding dress into my dream dress! Originally, I regretted purchasing my dress at first because I didn't love it. It was too big and fit weird, but clara made some serious changes and it came out exactly what I had envisioned my dress to look like. I live in NY but my wedding was in GA, and every trip down to Clara's for fittings was well worth it. She even made my bustle so beautifully subtle that it looked so well in picture. I got so many compliments during my wedding! I would highly recommend her for any alterations. My whole family even changed

Clara is an absolute lifesaver! I brought her my bridesmaid dress to her for some extreme alterations THREE DAYS before the wedding and she did an incredible job. Very reasonable price, especially considering the strict time constraints. She was very professional and would highly recommend her business.

I just have to put my $0.02 here to say that I've been working with Clara since 2012, and her work is truly stunning. I'm an opera singer, so I have a fair number of gowns every year that need some sort of alteration. Clara always handles my garment with incredible care and expertise... she's been able to work wonders on a few that I didn't think were salvageable. Her prices are fair, and her turn around is surprisingly quick. Let's put it this way... I no longer live in Roswell (I now live in between Little 5 Points and East Atlanta), and I happily make the drive to work

Clara is amazing!!! And kind. We brought my daughter's (and I only have one, so everything needed to be absolutely perfect for my Doodlebug) wedding dress to her to alter and she was able to make the dress fit like a dream!! She created the ability to bustle the dress for the reception and it looks wonderful. She answered all our questions. Made herself available when ever we needed her and her work is superb!! I couldn't recommend her any higher!!! If there were 10 stars on Yelp, she would qualify for all 10. Fabulous, just fabulous.

BEWARE!! While there are plenty of good reviews, I did not have the same experience as the rest of the reviewers. Clara totally ruined my daughters $700 prom dress. As other reviewers have posted, she is super nice at first but when you bring her mistakes to her attention she gets very, very defensive. The original alteration was so bad that she had to go purchase yellow material to match and redo the lining. I would not trust a wedding gown with her . We will never use this business again.

Clara, don't claim to not remember me when you just called me. My wedding was one month ago. I was clear in my review that you made several alterations, including a bustle. Your bustle and back clasp broke, which was a waste of my money. I spent about $380. I never claimed you charged me $380 for a bustle. You need to work on your English speaking and comprehension so you can effectively communicate with your customers.

Clara did a great job altering my wedding dress over a series of 3 appointments. My dress was full of lace so I was very particular and nervous about having it messed with. She also sewed a beaded belt to the dress. My favorite part was the wedding veil fabric from my mother's wedding veil that she cut and sewed to my jeweled comb. I would highly recommend her services for your special day! Top quality work

So I went on a quest for a professional who deals with formal dresses on a consistent base. I searched good old Yelp and this business popped up. The reviews were dead on.
Made an appt, arrived and was seen immediately. She gave me the exact date of when the dress would be ready and it was.
The only reason I can't give this a five star is because I think she is a bit pricey..but service

After purchasing my dress out of state and being new to the area, I had no idea where to go for my wedding dress alterations. My dress was quite complicated and I was nervous that alterations were not an option. So, I took a chance and found Clara's and I am SO happy that I did! She opted to alter my dress in the most aesthetically pleasing way even though it was an added inconvenience for her. She also was extremely fair in pricing and was always so sweet. Clara's other services include dress preservation and dry-cleaning, so it is truly a one-stop shop for all things wedding-dress related.

There may not be enough words in the English language to express how much I love Clara. She is the kindest woman! My first consultation she was so sweet and constantly complimented me. She even walked me out to my car! My dress had very intricate beading and was a fit and flare satin gown. I just knew it was going to be expensive. Every time I visited her (5 visits in all) she found more things to do to the dress to make it perfect including opening the back up. This is without a doubt THE worse place of, not only wedding dress shopping, but to do any kind of business.
The owner Clara has a serious attitude problem dealing with her customers and generally does not know what she is doing.
Getting your outfit altered for a huge event is a big deal and if you want to risk it in her hands, go for it but I would advise against it.
She took my outfit and completely ruined it, when I tried to confront her and demand it be fixed I was treated very badly.

Clara is my saving grace!! I took my bridesmaid dress to another alterations place in downtown Roswell - they had it for nearly a month, took in the lining WAY too much and didn't even take in the shell of the dress. I got it back less than 2 weeks before the wedding. This brought me to Clara. She knew exactly what to do. She let the lining out in just a couple of days, and I went back today to have her do the pinning so that the entire dress is taken in properly - she's super thorough. I will get my dress back next week, but I am THAT confident to go ahead and give her a review because

I bought my 1st dress as a part of a sample sale as a size 10. (I am a size 0-2) Not only was the dress way to big, it was a drop waist, which I did not like. Honestly, I only liked the material (satin).
I brought it to Clara to basically re-make the dress. These are the things I had her do:
-Take it in from a size 10 to a 2
-Move the waist up about 5 inches
-Make it a sweetheart neck instead of straight across
-Make the back dip down
We had 3 appointments/fittings and she completely changed my dress. It fit perfectly and looked beautiful

I couldn't sit on this review any longer. I held off because I wanted to attach pictures of my altered wedding dress with it but the photos aren't ready yet. Of course I will plan to attach photos later.

Initially, I was going to wait until my dress was totally complete to post a review; however, as this is prime wedding/alteration season, I couldn't wait...
She was highly recommended by my BHLDN stylist (they do not do alterations in-house). Clara is a wedding dress alteration fairy (if that is even a "thing")... seriously, she has worked magic on my dress. She transformed it into a mermaid fit, added cups, smoothed this incredibly tricky illusion back, made it fit through the hips and posterior, and ensured that it did not gap ANYWHERE. Clara is amazing! My dress was very tricky and backless and I couldn't wear a bra with it. I was worried about the support, but She worked her magic on it and it was perfect!!!
With a lace, backless, bra-less dress I was so worried about the fit..it surpassed my expectations. Worth the drive to Roswell!!

Clara basically made my bargain designer dress like new again! I found a designer wedding dress that was discounted to $200 at an outlet for La Raine's. It was a BEAUTIFUL dress, but had clearly been the show room dress or in some other way used, with darkening of dirt near the zipper on it. There was this lovely beading and embroidery in a cherry blossom sort of pattern, but some of the stitching was loose and in some places the beading looked like it was going to come undone. Also, it seemed like someone had tried to alter it previously (poorly) and basically tucked a bunch of fabric
