Dr. Colin Connors understands the importance of good eye health in achieving life goals. As a Middleton native and graduate of Middleton High School, Dr. Colin Connors moved to Chicago to study biology at DePaul University, and then graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2009. Upon graduation Dr. Colin Connors was excited at the opportunity to get back home to Wisconsin.

Isthmus Eye Care is a private eye care group with offices in Middleton and Madison. We are looking for a friendly and bright individual to join our team. Our clinics provide patients with eye health and vision care for the entire family - infants through seniors. The optometric technician/optician assists the doctor with managing patients as they go through various stages of their eye examination.

Having been a patient at Isthmus Eye Care for at least seven years now, it's high time for a review. I now live out of state, but travelled back to WI recently and made a point to schedule my annual exam there. Over the years, Dr. Callie and her team of assistants have earned my complete trust with my eye health. I recently had an eye exam and purchased a new pair of glasses from Isthmus Eye Care. The whole experience went very well, the prices for frames and lenses are what I would describe as the higher side of reasonable.
Unfortunately, nobody called me to let me know my glasses were ready. I logged onto the patient portal on a whim this afternoon, and that's how I found out my order was ready for pickup. I double-checked all my contact information, spam folders, missed calls - there's no evidence on my end of an attempt to contact me. I understand that places get busy, but had I not checked I don't

I'm not generally one to leave a review, but I had such an overwhelmingly positive experience that I had to share. Everyone in the office has a great attitude and explained everything to me from start to finish. The eye exam was such a simple and efficient process, from the COVID check-in requirements to the different eye tests. Justin was very cheery and chatty, which helped me ease into my initial consultation. I hadn't been to an optometrist in 25 years, so I was a little nervous. I will never go anywhere else for glasses again. GREAT experience from start to finish. They looked up my insurance as soon as I walked in the door, then went over pricing for lenses, and lastly helped me pick out the perfect frames for my face! It was all seamless and efficient. I just went to Isthmus Eye Care yesterday for my first appointment. I have been seeing an eye doctor in my hometown my entire life, but I didn't want to keep driving back home for appointments. I saw them online and figured I would try them out. First, they got me in for an appointment the next day, which was nice. Dr. Wilson was very nice and thorough. Got my eyes checked by some of the nicest people I've met in a doctor's office in Wisconsin

-location, in the same plaza as Metro Market on Cottage Grove
-beautiful modern office, lots of windows and chairs in the waiting area
-lots of frames to choose from
-everyone is all smiles from entry to exit
-complete eye exam included tests that I didn't have before at my previous eye doctor's office: color chart, extra focusing and optical muscles assessments, and general health checks like bp, hr, height, and weight.
-Dr. Wilson has a very pleasant chair-side manner, addressed

This place is cool. Staff are knowledgeable, personable, and have a great sense of humor. You have to when I’m the patient. They have all the newest equipment and software (I know firsthand because I’m a… Software Analyst). And be sure you ask for Sara (Optometry Customer Engineering Specialist), she was very kind and caring. Dr. Kimrey is the top of her field. See her or be weary.

Everyone here is super friendly. From the person who greets you to the doctors to everyone in between. Frames can get pricey but they are very helpful if you tell them a budget. I love that the person helping me find frames was so patient and fun to work with. This was my second visit and is definitely my eye place in Madison :)

The opticians and optometrists at Isthmus Eye Care are so friendly and helpful. I recently had an eye exam and contact fitting here, and it was a great experience. Not a huge fan of having my pupils dilated, but they put some drops in afterward which was supposed to help the dilation go away faster. Dr. Maursetter was very nice and explained the purpose of all the tests she was running. It's always helpful when a professional is explaining what they are doing instead of just doing something and leaving you wondering why they are doing it. Quite possibly the best optometrist I have ever been to, and I have been seeing optometrists for almost 20 years.
Everyone here is SUPER nice. They make a point of cleaning all of the equipment you are going to be touching right in front of you. And (my favorite part) they don't do the puff test! They have this little contraption that touches your eye (I thought it would freak me out, but it was fine.) - WAY less stress than the damn puff test.
I will definitely be going here from now on for eye exams.

Extremely competent staff. Got me into the right contact lenses on the first appt. Everyone was friendly and I interacted with every employee on my first visit. They have a Middleton clinic as well, and a good website with lots of information about the doctors. I researched a lot before I found them and I'm glad I made the right choice. Have already had friends go to see them.
