Andinita Restaurant
Excellent food & fantastic service! I lived in Venezuela for 2 years & the food is very authentic. The staff was wonderful & went out of their way to cater to our group of 20 people on very short notice. Seeing how people enjoy and love our culture is the best way to describe our Mission. The best way to share that culture is thru flavors. Best part of the mission it's seeing smiles and feeling of enjoy of our Colombian - Venezuelan Cuisine.

I am Colombian and wanted to love this place which is why it's 3 stars and not less. We walked in and were greeted by the waitress yelling at us to put on a mask which we would've happily done without being yelled at as soon as we walked in the door, it scared the crap out of me. We then ordered and the same lady threw our straws down on the table like she was mad, same with the way she handed us the food. Behind us we could hear her talking to people just being so rude and she ruined the whole environment. The food was ok, it lacked taste in some places and were salty like in the meat

Food was ok. If you decides to go there don't expect "great" customer service. I love to support local businesses, but this one with several years on the market should already learned to take care of people.

My family and I walked in and it smelled heavily of Clorox. I understand keeping your business clean but wow it felt like the inside of my nose was burning. But we thought let’s try it out and maybe the smell of the food will help. Looked over the menu, waitress comes over not very friendly at all very bothered attitude, okay maybe she’s had a long day we understand. We ordered some empanadas, sat for a minute when my mom gasped and said “look” and on the wall would you believe is a cockroach!! 🤮 immediately stood up turned around and told the waitress Um… there’s a cockroach on

Love, love, love the food. We’ve had bandeja paisa, carne asada special with soup, pabellón criollo, arepas de pabellón, all different kinds of empanadas, and we’re never disappointed. My family and I love this place and everyone I’ve brought here with me has loved the food too. I almost forgot to mention their natural juices are amazing too. Definitely recommend!

Fun little cozy restaurant. Food was delicious. Menu was kindly explained to us (terms we didn't know). Food was served hot, and was delicious! Definitely a win.

With the various Venezuelan places in the area I thought I'd write about the strengths this restaurant has. If you're looking for good pastelitos this is the place. They've got flaky like pastries that are filled with the filling of your choice and don't disappoint. Another thing we love is their parchita/maracuya juice! Best we have had in utah!

Meh. I asked for a choripan sandwich, I am not sure what I was given. Not sure if an error or what that was. The sandwich was just ok but not memorable.

Empanadas brought back some memories but quickly died as the flavors did not take me back home.

I might go back in a few weeks to try other items in the menu and hope to discover my first impression was not accurate.

Delicious and great service! Food has a lot of flavor and was very fresh, it can be a little greasy but personally I love the flavor that it adds! So good!

It's a lot of food! The only thing is that its okay food. It could be better. It's not terrible just the flavors could be more!
That was today, in the past I really enjoyed it. So I will be back.

Besides the arepas being burned, I thought the price for one arepa was quite steep $8.00 for one in comparison with Pupusas (salvadoreña food) price of around 2 to 3 dlls each and bigger.

I have gone there a few times with co-workers for lunch. They make the food fresh so we would call ahead and make our orders to save us time eating and running back to meetings.

This is a good restaurant. Small, hole in the wall place. It is similar in layout to the Sweet Spot Brazilian Bakery in Sandy.

The arepas are like wrapped sandwiches, they're pretty big. I always ordered a Pabellon arepa, it is beans, cheese, shredded beef, and fried plantain. I love the sweet and savory taste. One arepa is enough for lunch. Miss it since I moved for a new job further south.

It's a small place, but very authentic. The portion is big, and the owner was honest about it. We ordered empanadas, and pastelitoes, I like them both. People ordered the sandwiches, I'm coming back for that next time.

I didn't really care for the food it was soggy I don't like how they didn't speak English or even understand it either sorry but it's hard to place an order for anything when you can't communicate very well I asked for no onions and no avocado and I got both

The restaurant has cute authentic decor decorating and cultural music and videos playing. The service was quick and the food came out quick. We got the shredded beef, ground beef and potatoes, and the ham and cheese empanadas. The empanadas are kept in a heater so they come out very quick. The shredded beef was our favorite followed by the ground beef, and then the ham. They were about 2.50 a piece. We couldn't even finish all of our food. It was very filling.

The avocado sour cream based dipping sauce was delicious! You also can't beat the prices to fill up.

Restaurant is family

Unlike many here, we’ve had a very positive experience with the owner on both visits. Both times she brought children’s books to our son as he is rambunctious and it’s difficult for a two year old to sit still for a whole meal. We’ve never experienced any attitude or rudeness.
We’ve tried several items on the menu and have most enjoyed all the arepas and cachapas, I would suggest sticking to those rather than venturing out to the full plate options (which are very generous in size, but we’ve felt they lack a bit of flavor).
We have not experienced this restaurant to be dirty at all

Had the prices been any higher this restaurant would have struggled to get two stars. But discount abounds at Andunita, and their juicy flavorful Shredded Beef Pastelito somewhat makes up for the lack of flavor in their dull Arepa.

With such scrumptious ingredients as pork, avocado and mayonnaise, the Arepa should have exploded with flavors on the tongue. Sadly, it was hard to detect any of them.

Service is primarily counter-order (although I saw one couple being served at their table) and understaffed. I had to get up to ask for additional items each time.

Good for the value-hunter who craves

Ive been going here since they first opened in Utah county years ago. Im sad they moved--everytime I head that way I conveniently place an order for a chicken cachapa (chicken, butter, and melted cheese folded in corn pancake larger than your face!) and a half order each of their 2 different kinds of fried plantains. And the avocado sauce is so fantastic!
...if you come by at Christmas time they have a holiday bread filled with everything including olives that brings a reindeer sized tear of joy to my eye.
Ive had everything and never been disappointed but I only crave cachapas..its a thing.

Super nice lady, delicious food. My kid even asked for another shredded beef empanada. Food was like what I remember from visiting Colombia--I wish I lived in SLC, I would eat here all the time!

There is no more heavenly food than Venezuelan arepa. Period.

I always order a chicken or beef arepa (fried) and a few tequeños. Eaten with guasacaca (green tomatillo sauce, not unlike Cafe Rio's house dressing), the arepa is a simple but varied food that caresses you in all the right ways. It touches notes of crispy, creamy, savory, soft, and meaty.

For the uninitiated, an arepa is a pulled meat sandwich made with fried corn-flour pancakes instead of bread. It falls apart quickly, but takes to the fork as well as it does the fingers. Tequeños are fried cheese in a wonton wrapper, shaped

It's about that time to update my old review. The food is still as delicious today. Brought family from San Diego to try the cachapa and patacon. They loved it. They also added a new addition to their empanadas. Ground beef and potatoes! It was so freaking delicious. Had a little touch of curry and flavors were just amazing! No sighting of Ms Universe again. I guess have to travel to Colombia for that. Wait.... I made a mistake, it's actually Ms Philippines who won!
