Our son loves coming to group each week. He is always excited to see his friends and can't wait to see what project they are going to do next. The variety of approaches in your program is a wonderful non-competitive, non-threatening basis for building social skills. He leaves each week with a smile on his face, filled with pride and a sense of accomplishment.
Group therapy offers a unique format that can improve mental health for a variety of reasons. First, in a group setting, chronic problems arise naturally and can be addressed in vivo. For example, those with social anxiety can find group therapy helpful as clinicians guide interactions, processing of anxious thoughts, and support members in practicing appropriate social behaviors within an accepting and safe group of like-minded peers.
Group therapy is a highly effective way to work through many types of life's challenges. Support groups offer each member individualized strategies to lessen the sense of isolation. The group becomes a "safe place" as social skills and communication patterns from real life are recreated within the therapy group where they can be explored safely, and new patterns of relating develop.

Diana Sabados, my art therapist, changed the course of my life for the better. I respect her like she's my mother ♡ She is professional yet never made me feel like a client - I was comfortable and eventually, I was excited for each session. She definitely knows what she's doing.
Edit, 11-13-20, Diana has moved to her own practice.
