This is really an excellent place with a cozy local neighborhood restaurant vibe. They have an excellent drink and beer selection, food is tasty and comforting. We came for brunch and had a variety of egg dishes. I don't remember what my friends had but, the dishes were generous and looked tasty. Plus they enjoyed them.
My dish, the huevos rancheros wasn't what you'd get in the Southwest, but, I actually found I respect that. Rather than try to recreate a dish that would be very difficult to do in Boston given produce here tastes different not to mention the local pallet being different, they

This is the first bad review I've written but I felt compelled because of how bad our food was.
Here is a pic of my Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich.
A paper thin slice of chicken tendons on cold, dry, crumbly bread. A few pickles and a touch of special spicy aioli. Oh, and a small rind of romaine lettuce

It's hard to go wrong with a trendy brunch place in Southie. This place was really good, great service and food, but I felt like it wasn't anything too special. I would definitely go back, but if you're visiting Boston, I recommend checking out other more unique places for brunch.
Not pictured was the basic mimosa I got because it's not brunch without a mimosa. The most delicious part of the meal was the mac and cheese balls. They were amazing! I always need to try the place's mac and cheese and I love when the restaurant takes it to the next level, like a mac ball! I

It is a great place for hanging out at the end of the day. We got in at the last minute. The kitchen closes at 10 and we reached at 9.54, under the impression that the kitchen remains open till 11 (like the timings on google are mentioned) but the staff was very accommodating and friendly. We ordered a Long Life Salad (quinoa, black beans, lentils, tomatoes, cucumber, shredded lettuce, red wine herb vinaigrette) and a Summer Veggie Gnocchi (zucchini, squash, onions, corn, green beans, parmesan lemon cream). We substituted pasta for gnocchi. Both the dishes were great. They tasted fresh. And we

It was like a good- bad experience. Food was good but boy the service was one of the worst by far. I think they had 1 or 2 overworked servers only and I felt bad for them. Half of the time they couldn't understand the order, whatever they gave us, that was it. Nobody came to check on us, asked for extra well done meats because of my gastric issues, it was still bleeding. I asked for a box as i thought it would be best to cook at home and then have my meal. Waited 10 minutes to get the box. Anyhow the experience gets ruined if you go out for a nice time out and then have such an experience. Again

Just finished eating our dinner that we ordered from this place and I am ready to head to the kitchen to make a sandwich.
22 dollars for a chicken Caesar salad that had a burnt piece of chicken that was like cutting thru shoe leather. A stalk of romaine lettuce that was placed on a grilled and burned and made half of it inedible. With croutons that were just cut pieces of bread that weren't even toasted.

Went here after a run around the area and decided to cancel out my whole workout by ordering the Fluffernutter and the chocolate cake. Got a Moscow mule to wash it down. The fluffernutter was heavy but good but the chocolate cake was amazing. The Moscow mule was AMAZING mainly because they make their ginger beer in-house so it's very different and SPICY. The staff was friendly although the interaction was minimal. The dining space is classic bar vibes. Overall would definitely go again for the Moscow mule. GET THE MOSCOW MULE.

Went here for some food and drinks,we purchased the street corn calamari, some Buffalo chicken sliders, and got some various cocktails.
Overall the food was really good, the seasoning on the calamari was alright, it didn't scream street corn, but the breading and cook was good.
The drinks were decently priced, I got a green tea shot with a white claw for $9 which was decent, and then a tequila grapefruit one for $12.
Theyve been good with covid regulations, and have shield partitions set up between each table for safety reasons.
Location is great, it's by the beach,so we also just

A really cute and fun-looking place very close to the water. We sat outside since it was a nice day, and were well distanced from other tables.
The food was great! The home fries were amazing-super crispy and well seasoned. The tacos were not too heavy and a great way to start my morning.
Only slight issue, recognizing these are hard times, was service was a bit slow. We didn't get water for a while, nor did anyone take our order for a while. This may have been a unique experience since we saw others served more promptly, but just my personal experience that day!
A great place to check

Our one food stop for Massachusetts. We heard about Boston's deep fried Fluffah Nutta and it did not disappoint. The cod was delicious with the yummy Parmesan sauce on top. My two older children loved their burgers (along with 5 options for potatoes - french, sweet, tot, waffle, mashed). Server was EXCELLENT in a friendly and fast way but not overly so. I would love to come back and try their other menu fares. I almost forgot the atmosphere is also entertaining. Okay, bumping it to 5 stars. They deserve it! Dine inside or outside or takeout right now.

Covid-19 review: First things first, I live right down the street so pre-quarantine this was one of my weekly spots. My word of mouth review to friends stands strongly enough for this place.
But I wanted to leave another review to say how much I love and appreciate them during this time. Not only is the food as wonderful as always but it's speedy for pick up. Even through pickup I still believe the food keeps its same exact level of quality.
From a local who has had just about everything on the menu my personal recommendations are the excellent chicken sandwich (and if they really like

I’ve lived in southie for the last 5 years and local 149 is definitely my go to for brunch. The breakfast tacos and fried Mac and cheese ball will literally cure any hangover. Not even kidding! Also the manager who is this very tall ginger is so hilarious and makes you feel right at home. This place has literally become the extension of my living room.

Great food. Great space. Went for brunch. Was quiet as it was Christmas Eve. Sat by the fire. Started off with a Manhattan. The bartender sure knows how to make a good one. The Mac & Cheese fritters were an excellent appetizer. Had the Brunch Burger, which was very good and not tiny by any means. The home fries were nicely spiced and there was plenty. You definitely get your money's worth. First time there and would definitely go back.
