Hoyt-Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory
Proudly holding the title of Norwalk's Longest Running Funeral Home, since 1873, our funeral home has served the Norwalk community and its surrounding towns in Fairfield County. We treat everyone equally and with dignity, regardless of their financial position. Over the years, we've grown right along with the community.

To provide a more comfortable and relaxing experience to the families we serve, we continually renovate our facility and update our services to meet our community's needs. Come see what we've accomplished. After all, you've been a part of it! It's our way of saying thank you. We've helped thousands of families through the most difficult time of their lives.
Services
For 145 years, this funeral home has stood as a tribute to those who came before us and labored to create this city, and we at Raymond Funeral Home In Historic Norwalk pay tribute to them and their families by offering a gracious home-like atmosphere where the honor and memories of loved ones can be shared.
Staff members of Raymond Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors. John Lesko, a fifth generation funeral director and former owner of the Lesko funeral Home in Fairfield Center before passing his share of the establishment to a family member in 2003.
At the third set of lights, you will cross over RT 1, continuing straight on Main Street to the end. Follow Wall Street through four sets of lights. Continue STRAIGHT through the fourth set of lights where Wall Street will become East Wall Street. At the crest of the hill, we are located on the LEFT.
We offer a beautifully updated chapel for the comfort of the families we serve. Whether it's a funeral and burial or a cremation service in Norwalk or surrounding towns including Westport, Wilton, Weston, Georgetown, or Redding. Our chapel can accommodate both large and small gatherings. For large families or public figureheads, our two chapels convert into one, offering seating for up to 175 people comfortably.
For the past thirty seven plus years it has been my honor and privilege to help families of Veterans and First Responders. I believe there is no greater sacrifice these people have given to our country, putting themselves out front to protect, serve and secure our freedom, or save a life that may be in peril.

Thank you John and J.P. for providing my family and me with such professional and personal service for my husband's funeral. From planning, to hosting the wake and guiding me to the amazing Fr. Jeff at St. Matthew Church for a truly celebratory service and the burial at the beautiful, historic Riverside Cemetery, all while managing through the remnants of Hurricane Elsa, you were rock solid all the way. It has taken me a four months to get to posting this -- grief has an odd way of distorting time -- but I want to be sure you know I am so grateful for your kind and steady support.

I cannot express how pleased I am with their service. They are personable, pleasant and heartfelt. I’ve had a horrible experience in the past with another funeral home and was skeptical in my selections but they have exceeded my expectations! JP was awesome to work with and very understanding of my late submissions. Last minute I also had to bring my 3 small children to our meeting and they were accommodating and even gave them some cars to play with while I handled business. Thank you so much for making an extremely painful time in my life go by without any worries or hesitations! I would definitely

It's a very nice place. I like the architecture and it has a clean vintage look to it. John did a great job taking care of their family and was very engaged. We also really liked the porch outside with the cushioned chairs.

We cremated both my mother and father with Hoyt-Cognetta within three months of each other. I want to say that both Anthony and John were wonderful to us. It is such an indescribably hard thing to go through. They could not have been more sensitive and kind. We had some untraditional requests, as some of our family wanted to be there with my parents to honor them and celebrate them right up to the end. Anthony was sooo kind and understanding. He really got it and understood how much we cared. He was patient, accessible and professional. I don't know how we got so lucky, but all I can say is, thank
