Dry Needling is a medical technique performed by a skilled physical therapist to immediately reduce pain, muscle tension and improve mobility. Dry Needling is a treatment technique often used by physical therapists to relieve pain. It requires using a sterile acupuncture needle that is inserted through the skin into muscles, tendons, ligaments, and/or close to nerves to immediately reduce pain, decrease muscle tension and increase mobility.
Trigger point therapy, often referred to as myofascial release or pressure point massage, involves the application of gentle yet firm pressure to specific areas along the body, known as pressure or trigger points. This pressure is provided by the hands of a skilled physical therapist trained in pressure point release.
You have hundreds of joints in your body, which come in a variety of types and sizes (such as a "hinge joint" in your elbow, a "ball and socket joint" in your hip, or a "saddle joint" in your thumb). Joints, formed by the articulating surfaces of two or more bones, depend on a combination of both stability and mobility in order to help you function efficiently and comfortably.
Balance is something that many people take for granted for the bulk of their life. Early on, as young infants are first learning how to become toddlers, we cheer and celebrate as they first learn to maintain their balance. We focus on learning how to develop balance in a chair, and on a bicycle. Eventually, as life moves forward, balance becomes something a bit less reliable.

Ryan Fenton is a nice guy and a fantastic PhD PT who has healed every problem I've had over the last decade -- back, knee, hip, neck and balance -- and he worked out an exercise routine to help me through old age which is working well so far. He also diagnosed my husband's thigh problem immediately while watching his uneven gait and that is solved now. Ryan's assistants have all been great and nice as well. Plus, he's easy to reach and knows the ins and outs of Medicare and other types of insurance. It's worth a substantial drive to see him!

After have a double knee replacement I was worried about getting back to the very active and physical lifestyle I once had. The gang at 1 on 1 help me not only meet those goals but greatly exceed them. In fact, I was up and getting it way ahead of schedule. The whole crew listened to my feedback of how i was feeling at each visit and we adjust to it each time. I highly recommend 1on1 Physical Therapy!!

After a car accident in 2017 I was injured and was attending PT for a few years (in another state) on and off. After moving to Asheville I wanted to continue my care. I was directed to 1 on 1 Physical Therapy. I was so impressed after my first visit. ... and I continue my care there each visit feeling better than the last.
Attending PT at 1 on 1 I have been given attention and care that is unmatched. The therapist really know their stuff! I honestly feel I have known everyone there for years because they are so inviting.
I highly recommend their services!

Stop looking. This is where you need to be. I've had various injuries over my life (yay athletic?) but this is the first physical therapist I've worked with that genuinely CARES. But it isn't just the main Doc (Ryan) - it's all of them. I was lucky enough to be treated by two folks there and I cannot express my gratitude. They don't force you into anything you don't want to do, their music is entertaining (as is front desk staff!! Love Heidi!), but they definitely offer a motivating nudge when you need it to help you get better (who else hates Dry Needling? Yes, well, they're right. It works and

Simply the best PT. I am in my late 60s, and have had many orthopedic injuries in a sports-filled life....and thus had many experiences with PT. Ryan is the best! Spends an hour 1 on 1 with each patient, providing extensive priceless information on how to heal and strengthen, wonderful hands on treatment, curative dry needling, and a friendly, invitational atmosphere. The best!

Professional, experienced, personable therapists. Late weekday apts available and Saturdays! After my broken knee cap/patella, it was hard to imagine when life could be normal again. Thanks to Dr. Ryan and both Dr.Cindy's, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and brighter. Thanks y'all!

When I walked into 1 On 1 Physical Therapy 3 weeks ago, my back was in such pain that it was difficult to stand or sit. Ryan diagnosed spinal radiculopathy and after 5 sessions of prescribed exercises, Trigger Point Release, and spinal thrust manipulation, I feel like a new woman!
Ryan performs Dry needling (also known as myofascial trigger point dry needling), which is an alternative medicine technique similar to acupuncture. This provided me great relief an hour afterwards!
It is a convenient location, just a walk away from the Asheville Exchange apartments.

Chris is an awesome PT. I was skeptical of trying physical therapy at first because I’m not too old yet and had chronic back pain for 3 years now and nothing seemed to help. I was feeling pretty desperate because my kids are still young and I want to be my best for them and couldn’t because of my back pain. It was really limiting me living my fullest life. I met with Chris and I couldn’t be happier with my results. I had to work hard sweating under a mask each session but it was so worth it!! I literally can’t believe that I can wake up in the morning without pain and sleep
