Surgical Oncology is the branch of surgery which focuses on the surgical management of cancer. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Uptown specializes in Surgical Oncology of the breast and bone. In surgical oncology, surgical methods are used to diagnose, stage, and treat cancer. A primary care physician, specialist, or medical oncologist may refer a patient to a surgical oncologist for evaluation and surgery.
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Uptown offers same day joint replacement surgery for eligible patients undergoing total hip replacement surgery and total knee replacement surgery. This new and innovative approach means patients can have surgery one morning and go home that same day.

I just had my 1st surgery ever @ Baylor Scott and White Uptown (October 7th). I want to give Special Thanks to my surgeon, Dr. Syed and his team (Amy Evans PA, Dr. Nelson, Nurse Jessica) for doing a fantastic job. This is not about the ER dept.
This about billing got a bill for over $4300 called my insurance was put on a 3 party with the billing dept.
My insurance said it was pd.
Well guess what I didnt get 1 blil for the same amt but I got 2 bills with different acct #.
Seniors beware pls do not pay bill just because they are sent to you
Fight for your right.
This is so stressful I can't take it anymore

After a total Hip replacement, the care we have received has been nothing but outstanding. Every single employee at this facility has truly showed compassion to not only the patient but family too. We have yet had to ask for anything. Care has been 24 hrs and on time for everything. All the nurses and techs show through their skills and patient care that they love their job and their patients. Every interaction has been very positive. His pain has be managed very well, they have stayed on top of everything. Dr. Lancaster has done an amazing job, he has walked twice and it hasn’t even been 24

This is a wonderful center. The whole staff are all excellent and made me feel very comfortable. I was nervous and had high anxiety about my surgery and they made the process as easy as possible. There is a patient advocate that ensured my wife was updated and taken care of while she waited for me. The chicken soup they sent home with me was super yummy too. If you need surgery, I highly recommend Baylor Uptown.

Bridgette, Ramiro, Christina, Nina, Crystal, and some others that I'm sure I'm forgetting to list are all amazing people who made me weekend stay great. They were very helpful going above and beyond their requirements to make sure I was okay and I appreciate that. Also the food is really good too.
