Marcella was our waitress and was very friendly and kind, however the owner Maria was extremely rude, talked down snatching credit cards and tickets. She also made the remark "There are other Mexican restaurants" I am very disappointed and would not recommend anyone to patronize this place. The food was good, but the service was deplorable.

First time here & tried the shredded beef tacos. I didn't like the meat flavoring but the rice is good.

Always fabulous food and service.
We always leave with a pint of their salsa and a bag of their chips.

I am very disappointed. This place should have been fantastic given the price and location. Today is my Birthday we told both the hostess and the waitress they both said happy Birthday! The service was terrible. My husband did not have a fork so he had to resort to taking one off another table, cause the waitress was no place to be seen. The food was edible, but I could have gotten better at a 24 hour drive thru place for half the cost. My husband's food was cold. The women's bathroom was run down, paint was coming off the walls and no toilet paper. Guess you have to pay for that.

Flautas were the best, nice and crunchy. Serving of Guacamole was generous and no filler added. Salsa had authentic flavor. And the server was attentive, friendly.

This restaurant has the best mole in town!! I highly recommend it! I got the mole chicken breast served with rice and beans. As for appetizers, I had the traditional salsa served with chips, which was also very tasty. It had the right amount of spice not too mild, but just right. I will be back soon!

Disclaimer: My experience is based solely on their takeout.
The food here has an authentic, Sonoran style. Dishes are prepared from scratch, and the ingredients tasted fresh. My only suggestion would be to sit down and eat at this restaurant, rather than order takeout. The portions seemed to be lessened, given the price of the dish.
What I ordered: rice, beans, chicken enchilada, with beef tamale and beef taco.

Still one of the best kept secrets in town. Great Mexican food and the quality is consistently good. The Chicken Mole is one of their special dishes and one of the best in town. Their shrimp dishes use fresh shrimp from Guaymas, which everyone knows is where the best shrimp comes from. Their Veracruz fish dish is wonderful. I also love their salsa. I haven't had any better in town.

We love this little Mexican restaurant. The food is great and the menu offers a nice variety of choices at reasonable prices. It's a little hidden away but well worth seeking out.it"s a nice quiet place to enjoy a great meal.

Two words, Tortilla Soup. Try it!! It's definitely amazing!!
This is a cool little joint tucked into the back area of Plaza Palomino. Although I've never been in for dinner, I've done lunch many times and they never disappoint. They have a variety of lunch specials with very reasonable prices. The salsa is extremely flavorful and the service is impeccable.
Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

Absolutely delicious. Fresh Mexican food. Every component of the dish is cooked with care and flavor from the handmade tortillas served as an appetizer to the stuffed peppers and hand crafted tacos. From what I understand this place is recently under new ownership and is outstanding right now.

The food isn't good at all. The fish in the taco tasted boiled and had no flavor. The only thing that saved this place from getting one star, was the chips and salsa that we basically ate for dinner because the food was horrible. Don't come here Taco Bell can serve you better.

Nice little spot, I'll definitely go back as there were several things on the menu I'd like to try. However, my first visit was a little disappointing. I had the pescado cabrilla and the fish was woefully under seasoned, if it wasn't for the tasty topping of tomatoes, onion and green chilies the whole dish would've been really bland. My husband had shrimp, which he said didn't taste very fresh at all, so he was disappointed as well. The service was a little brusque but perhaps our server had had a bad day! On a positive note, the sangria was scrumptious!

The location is nice, food was good. I had the chilli relleno, cheese enchilada and taco combination plate. It came with beans and rice too. I'm just not a fan of American yellow cheese over everything, maybe use of some queso fresco would be good.
The relleno and taco were tasty, freshly fried up!
The waitress was very nice, but they seemed under staffed as service took longer than expected (and she was the only one working the floor). I'd recommend trying it all in all.

I have many pleasant memories of eating lunch here during my grad school years. It's a quiet little restaurant tucked away in the shopping plaza with good lunch specials and great budget friendly options.

They make a mean chimichanga and burros!

First try of Mexican food after we moved to Tucson and La Placita did not disappoint. The red tamale was moist and flavorful and the tacos we tried (shredded beef and fish) were crispy and crunchy even after 20 mins.

Went here while on a company trip with a bunch of co-workers. Accommodating service. It was pretty quiet on the weeknight I was there. The food was where it got really divisive. Some people loved their dishes, others were less than enthused. I personally just ordered soup, which was great. The drinks, unfortunately, were not. The mixed drinks were not sufficiently strong at all and overly sweet. If you're going to order a drink here, best stick to a neat liquor, beer, or wine.

Best margarita ever with orange Patron, Queso Fundido with Anaheim Chile's was off the charts! Last but not least the Chile relleno with a cheese enchilada was amazing. Great ambience, great service. I can't wait to come back next year.

Aside from this place being hard to find, it's in the Plaza Palomino shopping center which is really nice! However, the service was not that great. I went for lunch today and there were 9 of us. So I get that handling a table that large is difficult. However, there were 2, count that 2 other patrons at the restaurant so I would hardly call it a lunch rush! The waitress had such an attitude where she was literally slamming the plates down in front of us. And we all ordered lunch specials, and we knew they didn't come with beans and rice but she could have "up sold" us or even

The positives are that the food is just wonderful. I loved my enchiladas. The sauces were spicy and light. They were obviously homemade. The margarita was delicious and had Grand Marnier in it which made it yummy and well balanced. While I loved their salsa, I'm not wild about the thick chips that are almost more like a cracker. I prefer the thinner white chips.

The atmosphere is cute but not fun or lively. Still, I will come back often for delicious food and nice service.

La Placita has a great menu. We eat fish but not meant, and enjoyed the shrimp and the scallops, respectively. They were both wonderful. Contrary to another review, the salsa was excellent! Water please! I'll admit I like a thinner chip, but my girlfriend loved their thicker chips. I'm looking forward to the seafood pizza on my next trip!

Tucked in the rear portion of a rather vacated Palomino Plaza, THEY ARE OPEN!
