Istanbul Mediterranean Cuisine & Bar was founded by Kamran Esar and his family, including his father, who has 45 years of butchery experience. The restaurant will have it's Grand Opening in mid-August, so stop on by! We aim to ensure that all our guests - from vegetarians to meat lovers - will find something to love at Istanbul.

A Turkish restaurant is taking up residence in the old May's Counter Chicken & Waffles space on East Speedway nearly 10 months after the popular UA-area restaurant closed. Esar said he will do extensive renovation to the 3,283-square-foot space, including painting inside and out and replacing several major kitchen appliances.

I don’t understand all of these reviews. My partner and I ordered falafel wraps with a salad to go. Pretty standard order, easy enough, right? We took a couple bites and threw it away. The vegetables in the salad looked like they had been cut, frozen, thawed, then slapped in a box.
The wrap itself was HUGE but biting into it, it smelled like actual vomit. For reals, like someone just spread puke into a tortilla. The falafel was just crumble spread throughout and tasted old/moldy.
Even the olive was disgusting and inedible. An olive alone should be 5 stars, how did you ruin this?!

My husband took me to this place for lunch and I was VERY impressed with the vegetarian combo plate and my husband had the chicken rotisserie platter which looked amazing, he couldn’t finish it it was huge.
We had Turkish coffee after our meal, if you like coffee, then try this coffee, it’s also well presented along with left overs to take home.
Prices are quite reasonable
We will come back and I hope you try it also

Whatever you eat there is fresh and prepared in there and cooked before you eat.
They use all good quality meat from beef and lamb taste delicious.
2 wooden kebab skewers with seasonal salads and rice must… taste.
The rotisserie meat vertically roasting then cutting to pieces and serve with salads and traditional sauces as sandwiches or on a plate.
If you longing to eat home made Baklava with full of walnuts sweetened with honey, now you are in correct place.
It’s absolutely family business. They are clean and happy to serve you.
If you live in Tucson, or nearby or passing through

Will never eat here again. My husband and I have been regularly eating here since they opened and we always get the same thing. Well today something was off about my usual sarma order. It had like congealed globs on it. My husband brought it back since we always get it to go and they just told him oh that's how it comes. Never in all the many times… I've eaten here has it looked like that. Well come to find out, she shows my husband it comes out of a can. So obviously they gave me one that had gone bad. But seriously a Mediterranean place and you get your sarma out of a can? Explains why

Quick service, atmosphere redolent of jasmine, generous portions, and reasonable prices. Chicken kabob platter and doner (lamb and beef mixture) platter were tender but if you want much of the traditional spice, better try the spicy option as these were very mild.. The chicken kabobs were obviously marinated chicken tenders. The salad was plentiful. It looks as though you can buy boxes of Turkish Delight on the way out. Check out the coffee sets!
