Trident Grill was opened in August of 2001 by Nelson Miller, retired US Navy SEAL. Trident is named after the special warfare insignia that all Navy SEALs wear on their uniforms. Miller was still active duty while opening the original Trident Grill and was called to serve in Iraq and Afghanistan. As a patriot of our country, he answered the call to duty.
While serving his country he still had to remain involved in his newest venture. He fell in love with the Arizona desert and culture of the Southwest when doing special training ops in Tucson and nearby areas. Originally out of Maryland, Miller wanted to bring a touch of East Coast flavors and culture to the Southwest.

The food and drinks were excellent and priced right. The atmosphere was incredible. The only reason this establishment didn't get 5 stars was the wait staff. Our waitress took over 40 minutes at one point to bring us a beer. If they could hire 2 more waitresses this restaurant would easily earn 5 stars.

This is my least favorite of all the Trident locations. The bartender was terrible. She was more focused on the men at the bar then the restaurant full of people. Our server was cut in the middle of a busy rush during nfl playoffs and college basketball games. We will visit the other locations for better service.

Interesting fact: Trident's owner, Nelson Miller, is a retired U.S. Navy Seal and still trains Seals at the Pinal Air Park in Marana. In fact, he knows and helped train the same Seals that tracked down bin Laden.
Trident has been proudly serving Tucson since 2001. With a pub like atmosphere and an absolutely fantastic menu, it has a full bar and 24 draughts!
We ordered a Cuban Grilled Cheese, a Philly Cheesestake, wings and a grilled chicken pesto sandwich. Everything was very good! Please support local businesses!

Trident overall, is so amazing and unbeatable. I wish they would even expand to other places! I've been dozens of times, to all locations and mostly had a good experience. The portions are always huge but this time my salad had barely any chicken on it. Other than that the drinks were great and everyone seemed to love their food. One strange part, after 5 minutes or so of the server dropping the check on our tables she came back and preceded to tell us that "she wants to check out now so she can go" but the way she phrased it was kind of strange and impolite. It was sort of implying

I've seen this place growing in Tucson for some time now and finally stopped and ate there. Well I can definitely see why they are expanding so well. It was busy and the wait time for food is a little long, but it was easy to see what took the extra few minutes to get food. It was so well made! Every detail was covered with excellence. I dont remember our server's name, but she was the best server I have ever had. The serving sizes were huge. Normally, I always finish my plate, but not this time. I had the super Reuben and it was excellent. We had a side bowl of mac and cheese that was

Stopped off here on our way back to Phoenix to catch the game (Suns Vs Clippers) and a bite to eat. The tables are TVs are perfectly arranged and the Fish and Chips was delicious. Service was nice, but they were not as fast as I believe they could have been given the place wasn’t packed. Other than that solid place to grab a game and a meal.

Fish and chips were kinda greasy. Nm better than a good Gordons fish stick dad said. The tap beer tasted skunky and warmish so we asked for a bottle of bud instead. gotta keep taps clean. The distributors know that but not always the people servicing the taps. Fingerprints on the window. Nice ambiance ig if you wanted to hangout for drinks with friends near the u of a.

Let me start by saying I am from the pacific North West so I have very high standards on seafood. Sorry but this place did not make the grade for me. Started out with the clam chowder, so bland, no clam flavor here just tasted like potato soup. On to the seafood platter, everything was over fried. Tough calamari and super tough shrimp. Fish was OK but way to much breading for me. The plate was covered with to many fries, not enough seafood for the $20. they charged. I doubt if I will be back.

Not impressed. We came from out of town and relied on the reviews from yelp. Not sure where 4 stars came from......service was soooo slow, didnt get our food for 45 minutes after order. Drinks were horrible unless you are looking for straight fruit juice! Not impressed. no atmosphere either. Wont b returning....

Had i written this review on my first visit here it would have been 5 stars. Ive been to two other Trident locations and have never had a problem. Yesterday my gf wasnt feeling well and needed to raise her blood sugar. We were shopping next door so i called in a Pick Up order for two Cod tacos. When i arrived i was in a hurry so i paid and rushed to get the food to her. The bag was given to me tied tightly so i didnt smell it but when she opened it the smell hit us like a sledge. It was bad. However, because she was in a pinch and we had eaten there before, she took a chance and ate it anyways

I actually used to come here all the time. I left and moved back to Tucson. When the pandemic hit, my wife and I were quickly on the look out for restaurants that could do good take out. We love to go out to eat! I remembered this Trident location from back in the day. So, we decided to order. Since then we've ordered take out at least 5 times! Why? Because they do an awesome job. Here's some of the things we've had:
Awesome, huge cheeseburger with fries. 9/10. Cooked perfectly every time with fresh hot fries.
Fried calamari 8/10. It would be better if it was served with something

The food was great, big portions. This bar is close to the university and it's definitely a tavern they have a ton of aluminum mugs hanging from the bar. Washington Redskins bar for sure! the owner is a Washington Redskins fan and every time they play they do Raffles and play the theme song super cool. the second I got there they accommodated one of the TV screens for the game that I wanted to watch. excellent service excellent football sports bar lot of different beers available.

We are Trident regulars and are here or at one of their locations at least once a week (just throwing that out there). I love the atmosphere and when they host Geeks Who Drink. I normally don't like sitting at tables so we will wait for a booth to open because they're so comfy and add to the whole Trident experience.
For starters make sure you order the Calamari (make sure you ask for extra sauce and lemons) and hot wings! Then proceed to either a burger, BLT, Mac and cheese or salmon. The fries are so good and seasoned perfectly.
As for drinks, I stick to my good ol' iced tea
