Services
Tanks-A-Lot Dive Charters has been in the scuba diving business for almost 25 years and all at the same location. Our Captains have extensive boating experience in the Tampa Bay and Clearwater area and most have been running boats all their lives. They all love to dive when not behind the wheel and many are also scuba professionals with various agencies.
The first CAN-TANK-EROUS was only a 6 passenger wooden dive boat, however Ben and Sue quickly piloted her to the #1 dive boat in the bay area. With their success they upgraded to the current CAN-TANK-EROUS, a Coast Guard certified dive vessel rated for 14 divers. Ben and Sue were behind the helm for 12 years growing the business each year bringing the underwater world to thousands upon thousands of vacationers and bay area locals.
Note: You must already be a certified OPEN WATER DIVER to dive with us. A scuba diver card is not a certified driver, and you must hire a dive professional, which we can provide. All of our dive trips are 2 tanks in less than 60 feet and we try and dive one wreck and one reef or natural ledge. Dive spots are NOT chosen until that morning unless we are going to the Circle Of Heroes.

I misunderstood directions on the website. My concern is that communication with this company was ineffective and slow. My inquires started on Saturday and first conclusive response I’ve gotten was Monday AFTER my reservation is over due. I’ve called twice. Texted 3 times. Sent 1 email. Now the Lack of communication has left me uncomfortable with traveling with this company and I’ve loss $100.
Im sure as a business they expect customers to have questions even after reading details online.

The Captain and Crew were stellar, but lets address the issue here. It is the Charters responsibility to ensure that conditions are good for their customers. I spoke with several charters after going out with these guys and all of them stated they weren't going out for at least two more weeks. This company will take your money, take you out, and say, "oOOops, viz and conditions are bad, sorry..." I do believe this could be a good Charter service, but whoever is running this Charter service is all about the $$$ and cares little about the customers experience. I had a blast diving with Tanks-A-Lot. Dive master Shanell and her captain (on 9/21/21) were awesome. We went to sunken barges at veterans reef. It is not the Caribbean, obviously, but with that being said it was amazing and the best in the area. We seen tons of goliath grouper, other groupers, snappers, and tons of other fish along with huge crabs and mantis shrimp. I will definitely be back! I definitely feel like i got my moneys worth. I wish i brought my camera so i could post what i seen. Also i felt super safe, Shanell and her captain did a great job at ensuring everyone’s safety while

Lovely staff that work very hard to make the whole experience wonderful. Great dive sites at the Circle of Heroes and 3 Barges and you get freedom to dive around for an hour or until you hit 500 psi or follow the guide. Safety is put above all else and fun follows very closely behind. Rental gear is very well maintained and easy to use. Had an amazing time and Cpt. Tracy made sure that everyone listened while still being keeping things fun.

Had a wonderful Sunday (6/27/2021) out in the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. It was a quick ride out and then down to see the Circle of Heroes. Next stop were the 3 Barges. Wonderful as well. Many things to see. Tons of sea life. The crew consisted of 3 wonderful ladies and the token male (Divemaster Dallas). I was pleasantly surprised by the captain not being a grumpy old man. Captain Tracy brought a comfortable and commanding presence. They were all very professional, well spoken and clearly understood as they gave instructions. I felt very comfortable and secure having my life in their hands. I recommend

Very pleased with Capt TJ, Dive Master Cory and Tanks-A -Lot. We dove the Airplane Barge and Circle of Hero's on 8-21-20. I arraigned everything over the phone (text) from Iowa. After calling, I immediately got a text stating they were "offshore" and started the planning for the dive. Capt TJ was very flexible with some changes we had on our part and arranged the best day and time to go out with a changing weather pattern.
Great communication on the weather and told about the one hour boat ride in 2-4 seas before we committed to the dive. Dives were good but weather cut down on visibility. Dive

Eric and Captain Donny were fantastic! Once they figured out that I was a total newbie, they bent over backwards to make me comfortable and put me at ease. The great experience we had with Tanks-a-lot started from the easy booking process online. Easy to see which dates and times are available on their website. Received confirmation email, was able to text any questions and get a timely response. Once we arrived at the dock on dive day, communication was clear and fitting of our rented dive gear was easy and seamless. Once on the water our dive guide Chris and Capt Donny we’re both awesome helped foster a relaxing dive environment. Our dives were the Circle of Hero’s and a ledge more inland to help with vis.
