Our Guest House pre-dates 1850, having survived the fires and earthquakes of the 19th century. The main house, constructed in 1905 in Victorian style, is a later addition to the property, as is our Cottage.

My wife and I stayed for a full month and could not have been happier. The house is located in a convenient location in walking distance of all the downtown attractions. It is modern, comfortable and immaculate. Hosts, Ann and Fred, live next door and are incredibly friendly and helpful. This was our first time renting a home in this manner and our experience could not have been better.

My sisters and I stayed at the guest house a few weeks ago. Not only was Charleston a fabulous city, our location and accommodations couldn't have been better. Ann and Fred made us feel so welcome and had a bunch of recommendations for us to explore and check out. What made our stay here special is that it gave us an opportunity to just hang out at the cottage, make a homemade breakfast, put our feet up and just spend time visiting. I would recommend staying at the Sarah Clifford guest house whenever you are thinking of staying in Charleston.

We'd planned a trip to Charleston last year, but it was cancelled because of Hurricane Matthew. In the category of "every cloud has a silver lining" (and those are serious clouds!), a benefit of this delay is that we didn't go to our originally booked hotel, but chose instead to stay at the gorgeous place! Situated on a quiet residential street lined with eclectic 19th century architecture, the cottage is a short walk to the great sites, restaurants (!!!), and shopping of Charleston. It is immaculate, comfortable, beautifully designed in a modern style, offers great privacy and quiet, and even

If you would like to stay in your own private place in Charleston on a quiet street in the historic district within walking distance to King Street, then this is the place to be. Ann and Fred are on site and fantastic hosts. Everything has been thought of to make your stay comfortable and memorable. Amazing kitchen with every amenity. The pots and pans and silverware were so spotless, we felt bad using them! The worst part was leaving. We look forward to our next trip to this beautiful city and staying here again.

Everything about our experience was 5 star! Ann and Fred were absolutely wonderful, the carriage house is amazing - new, clean, beautiful, great layout for two couples and they even stocked the refrigerator for breakfast. We walked everywhere - perfect location. We will definitely rent any property from Ann and Fred the next time we are in Charleston!!!

My wife and I stayed at the Sarah Clifford Cottage during the weekend of the Volvo Tennis Open and we could not have been more pleased with our experience. This well-appointed two-story cottage with its contemporary interior was simply ideal for our stay. For those who enjoy cooking as we do, the kitchen was indeed gourmet. Likewise, the master bedroom suite was furnished with a very comfortable king bed, high quality linens, and ample storage space. Located in a quiet section of Charlotte St., the cottage is within easy walking distance of East Bay, Meeting, and King Streets. Ann and Fred were
