The food was excellent. Had an excellent selection of meats and cheese. Generous portions and high quality. Also had the gnocchi, which was the best I’ve had in quite some time.
Above all else the service was wonderful. Our waiter Christopher was incredibly knowledgeable and rattled of detailed recommendations from their wine list to pair with our entrees. Checked on us with a smile and made our meal an even better experience.
The staff behind the meat counter were also friendly to everyone who came up and seemed like experts at their trade.
Pleasant surprise for a small neighborhood restaurant

Some years ago a friend of mine gave me a gift card for this place.....and I was hooked. Until last night.......hence my downgrade from five stars to one. Usually, I purchase my delicacies from their antipasti counter. Meats, cheeses, veggies...all Deeeeee-lish....!!! Especially this time of year, I love the sliced meats and cheeses. Last night, I purchased half a pound of bresola an air-dried Italian beef. Classically it is sliced very thin...... usually I stuff cacio pepe taralli with the meat as part of my antipasti platter. However, the bresola I received last night was sliced so thick it was

I had lunch at the bar, I had a plate of Manzo, it is basically a cut of Angus skirt, soft, over a creamy sauce I could not have enough of, and a side of potatoes that quite simply must have been made in heaven. The staff was welcoming, professional and super nice. I am definitely looking forward to my next visit.

Great little gem on the UWS... perfect for a light nibble or full on meal before going to the Beacon Theatre. The portions are plentiful and the food is outstanding- we grabbed a bottle of House Red to share which was perfect as we had no issues finishing it. Salads are great - entrees delicious we had lasagna and risotto- we both found room for dessert- tiramisu which I highly recommend- don't pass it up! The service is great - very attentive and so nice! We ate outside which was a bit chilly- but much more spacious than inside

Salumeria Rosi I'd absolutely amazing.
Very warm interior and their wait staff is super friendly as well. Our waitress recommended we should share a few small pasta dishes and so we did! We also got a meat and cheese platter. Highly recommend!
The lasagna was so good and warm perfect for a chilly fall day. Pesto pasta was also amazing! But their rigatoni bolognese takes the cake!

Came here for a nightcap and dessert and oh boy it didn't disappoint!
One of my favorite cocktails ever is a great espresso martini. They made one of the best ones I have ever had with the coffee infusion being very strong and a great kick!
For dessert we ordered tiramisu and cheesecake. Both were excellent. I enjoyed the presentation of the tiramisu in a martini glass and the trifle like consistency made it light and easy to enjoy.
I would like to come back and try their meal options as the menu looked amazing! Will be back very soon but in the meantime go here and try their espresso

Thank you
Grazie mille
I have in the city for a year! And it’s the first time iam having real Italian food! I lived in Italy and I was frustrated since I moved here because all the Italian places I have been to from middle to upper scale restaurants don’t have Italian chefs and you feel it!
Grazie mille. Service is great. Good wines. Very cool atmosphere, I felt I was in Milan.
I had a great time and will come back.

Pretty young and hip crowd here when I went. This place also has the swankiest bathroom far and wide, though it is very small. Other than that, it's on a very busy street so make sure you get a table further in the back if you want to dine outdoors. Service was good, and prices were reasonable but I was missing more drink options. Of the food, nothing stood out to me especially. The charcuterie counter does look great however, so if you like that it might be a good thing to try. Might be better for lunch than for dinner

I have mixed feelings for this place. Caprese salad was good. Watermelon salad was ok. My chicken dish tasted like the chicken was fried multiple times - very greasy - it absolutely was not fresh. My husband got the steak which was good although he asked for medium and it came out more rare. We had to ask for bread and didn't get it until after our appetizer was done. Salmon from my sister in law she said was ok - not much to it. Nothing to rave about.

We came to Salumeria Rosi for a light dinner tonight and had a nice time. We had brunch here a few weeks ago and it was just ok. This place is definitely better for dinner, which serves delicious, authentic, quality Italian food.
The restaurant is quite small, so indoor dining during covid feels a little claustrophobic. So we've been dining outdoors, which they have set up nicely on the sidewalk.
If you've never been to this place, the dishes are on the smaller side. The prices are reasonable, though, considering the high quality.
My go-to are the Salumeria's Signature Salad and

The good: everyone is trying their best right now and the restaurant has good bread.
The bad: My ($30) takeout order was practically inedible. Pasta was one large soft salty lump after sitting around too long. Maybe that’s the delivery dynamic, chef had an off night etc. What I cannot forgive is the piece of mold I found in the grated cheese (photo). It’s hot out, I get that, but the restaurant needs to examine their storage and sanitation.
I’ve had decent food from here in the past, but will not be coming back.

Invited here for dinner by some friends. Found parking in a lot about a block away. Had reservations and was immediately seated inside. Over small in location but mighty in quality and service. After my first bite of pasta I asked for some details and as suspected it was handmade on site that day.
I also had the steak “manzo” it was delish ! I asked to have it prepared as the chef would suggest and best move. No additional sauce or additions needed. Had a few, several drinks and they were all great. Service was also great. No rushed, everything explained and suggestions were made. Also felt

Finally decided to try this place after walking by countless times. I should've done so sooner!
We came here for an indoor dinner and started with a small cheese and mixed meats plate. It was delicious! This places gives me the casual wine and dine vibes. The pacing of the food was good. I plan to come back for just the meats. Item on the menu we tried had as our main was the shaved brussels sprouts and their signature lasagna. Both were solid, not particularly crazy but good.
It would be a good idea to pick up some meat and cheese to picnic at the park.

I have a really hard time understanding the rave reviews here, I recently ate there and had a green salad that was nothing more than a pile of tough chicory type greens with an acidic lemon dressing . It was barely enough for a lunch salad and with an iced tea was almost $25.00! It tasted like they took a plastic full of salad from Key Food and dumped it on a plate.
In addition, if you sit outside you get to hear all the cars honking off of Amsterdam Avenue, and can barely digest your meal.
The greens used at the nearby restaurant Sweetgreen are better and will fill you up.
Lesson learned; if

This place is a gem--the service is extraordinary, the drinks are a treat, they have a lovely wine list and both the cacio e pepe and the seafood-laden black fettucine were flawless. Portions are not huge, but satisfying. So much quality for such a reasonable price is almost unheard of in this city.
And the gracious welcome, the warm and kind service will make you truly look forward to your next visit.

I made a reservation well in advance for Friday at 7pm for me and my boyfriend. A couple walked in about a minute before me and was immediately greeted. We were ignored. After about 10-20 minutes of waiting just to be greeted another couple breezes in and is immediately greeted. Both couples were continuously waited on -- finally I got someone's attention and said I had a reservation and was treated as if this was a major annoyance. Eventually the first couple was seated and then the second couple was seated despite having arrived much later.

Four person takeout feast. In order of preference:
$14 Caponata - This dish was a revelation to me. Heaping piles of spiced eggplant and strong-flavored garnishing veggies like capers, onions, and olives. I'll be looking to try this restaurant at other places now.
$18.50 Lasagna - Balanced, hearty, layered (but of course it was layered).
$18.50 Bucatini All'Amatriciana Pasta - The pasta was cooked nicely and paired well with the red sauce.
$29 (large) Gnocchi - It wasn't my favorite texture of gnocchi, a bit too mushy. The accompanying tomato sauce was plain to me.
$16 Costine

Best and most authentic Italian food on the UWA by far! Walk inside this charming Northern Italian restaurant to find a display of meats and cheese similar to what you find in a true Italian market. The restaurant seating is intimate, dim lit, and all separated by Plexiglass for COVID precautions.
Place setting is garnished with some fresh rosemary and complementary warm focaccia with high quality olive oil are served. Portions were just the right size - not obnoxiously large family style dining like many of the other local Italian spots, but also not a small, sad portion either. I particularly
