Teruya's Andagi
We are still open for business and are taking extreme measures to ensure the safety of our customers and employees. If you live in Honolulu, HI, or the nearby area, you probably see dozens of the same restaurants every day. Teruya's Andagi is the local Japanese food hotspot for all of your traditional favorites, including bentos, andagi, and mochi.

We started serving the area with delicious Japanese cuisine back in 1987, and although a lot has changed since then, the quality and intense flavor of our food still remain. Ask any of our loyal customers and we guarantee a ravishing review of both our service and our menu options.

Stopped by to pick up a bento for our plane ride home, friendly service. Great variety of items packed to go, very reasonably priced, travels well. Everything tasted great, very flavorful, will definitely visit again. Only wish we got more of the purple yam mochi balls, they were so good!

Delicious bentos so fast and easy to go! Service with a smile even with mask I could tell the guy was happy to help me. I picked 4 bentos, 3 Andagi 3 poi Mochi (one free with Yelp check in) and don't forget the side order of tofu patties, thank you for the great care of making the okazuya (Japanese side dishes) and main course was delicious. Loved and ate everything. Super happy with the prices and quality of food. Will be back when in town and next picnic to go food, easy and good.

If you're looking for great quality bentos for a good price then Teruya's is the place to go! My husband and I came across this place while looking for vendors to make bentos for our daughters first birthday drive-by. We called ahead and placed an order to try their karaage chicken, shrimp, and garlic chicken bento. We were not disappointed! We instantly knew we wanted to have them make our daughters bentos for her first birthday drive-by. For $7.95 we got either a shrimp or garlic chicken roll, karaage chicken, sausages, croquet, and varies different veggies. And did I mention the presentation

Had been searching for yummy airplane meal for flight back to mainland. Came across this place on Yelp, and it looked perfectly packaged for the flight! Rushed over and managed to snag a bento before they closed. The owner was so kind and super nice! He was preparing to pack up and close to go to the Kaiser Farmers market as it was Tuesday, he explained. Beautifully arranged and a healthier option for in flight meal (or any meal for that matter), it WAS a great bento! I got the shrimp tempura one and the vegetarian bento. Both were fantastic. It was like having a home cooked meal, which

Got the garlic chicken bento and me partner got the shrimp tempura bento. Bento came with the garlic chicken roll, one tofu patty, two pieces of chicken karaage , and the vegetables or "yasai". Was pretty fire but I would probably just get the rolls itself for $2.50 each compared to $7 for the bento. Parked at Walgreens since its close by and street parking wasn't available. Also got the andagi and sweet potato mochi. Andagi was alright, idk if it worth a dollar tho. the sweet potato mochi tasted like jin dui or sesame ball from dim sum, so its pretty good and worth a try.

This is my favorite lunch take out place.

The Good:
* It's never super crowded -- so I always know I can get what I want for lunch in a reasonable time
* The 9 slot bento is MY FAVORITE. It's all vegetables. I used to get it all the time when they were at the old Shirokiya and I was so bummed out when the old Shirokiya closed and I had NO idea where to get them! Then I saw my coworker eating the 9 slot bento one day in the lunch room and I was like WHERE DID YOU GET THAT. Thank God my coworkers have the same tastes in food!
* The poi mochi here is probably the best I've had... besides

I had a garlic chicken donburi, think it was $7. Not bad not bad, it was made fresh and i was decently full afterwards. It was decently busy when I went, seems like a local haunt. Park in the walgreen's parking lot right across the street.

Came here for the first time because my wife was craving for some andagi. We ordered 1/2 dozen andagis and 1/2 dozen fried mochi. The mochi was very bland and the andagi was delicious, but I wish it was a bit more sweeter. They also sell some yummy looking small to large bentos, but I haven't tried any. At least I know they cater bentos now so I'll be back to sample their bentos.

The staff is fast and friendly. This place is hole-in-the-wall is located just past Aunty Pastos and has no place to dine in. They only have metered street parking and if you miss it them you either go all the

Good little bento shop. Parking can be hard islf street parking. Most park across the street at the bank just don't stay long grab n go.

Bentos were good just the right amount for us and price is very reasonable

Garlic chicken roll bento and chicken karaage was the 2 we got. Rice was really good rice.
Love the piece eggplant that was simmered.

Also got some andagi and taro mochi as well.
Really good not overly sweet like some other places we go

They've been here for 3 years. The people are so nice, seems like family business, and very friendly. Their food is looks like very local Japanese food, it reminds me of mom's taste so much. It's very reasonable, just perfect amount of the potions, looks very delicious. This is bento shop and no eat inn. They also have $1 mochi donut and andagi. If it's close to my office and home, I'd come here more. They open 10 to 3 PM, so it's good for lunch. I'll come back here to get lunch again. Thank you for the delicious bento.

Love this little shop of goodness! I was looking for quick bentos and Yelp, of course, came through with a suggestion to check out Teruya’s. We ordered bentos over the phone and picked them up. While there, we couldn’t resist the freshly made andagi! You mustn’t leave here without an andagi or two!
As for our delish bentos, hubby and I got a Karaage Chicken bento and a Shrimp Tempura bento. Both were under $7 which is such a great price for a great lunch that hit the spot.
This is a must-try spot if you are in the area!

Yelp Review during COVID-19 Stay-at-Home Order:

Just like in life, don't forget about the little things. Teruya's Andagi is little in size, but big on flavor! I'm going to bet a ton of us have all driven past this spot on Pensacola many, many times. I know I'm guilty of it. Honestly, I didn't even know it existed!

But, the other day, I was frantically looking for a bento shop to pick up bentos for my hubby and I to bring back to my house for my parents who were watching my son. It was 10:30am and all the shops I tried were either closed or didn't open until 11 or

Not sure if their restaurant is open right now but you can find their delicious bento and andagi every Tuesday afternoon at the Kaiser HS farmers market. Don’t let the long line discourage you - you’ll want to get that andagi and sweet potato mochi.
Don’t fill up on that, though - the bentos are a great deal. I got one packed with a shrimp roll, potato croquettes, chicken karaage, and side veggies for $7.
Vendors don’t usually get the same location every week, so just look for his table - and the line!

Delicious bentos and adagis for a reasonable price! I never thought I could get adagi outside of the Okinawan Festival that happens once a year, so I was stoked to find these delicious fried okinawan snacks here at only $1 per andagi!

I tried the Garlic Chicken Roll Set ($6.95) and my friend got the Vegetable Bento ($7.50) along with 5 andagi ($1 each).

The Garlic Chicken Roll was delicious - nicely marinated and fried garlic chicken wrapped in rice and nori, along with two pieces of mochiko chicken, an AMAZING tofu patty, and eggplant/daikon sides.

The andagi was very fresh and warm too

Teruya's has been on my bookmark for a really long time and I am so happy I got to try finally! There is no parking so you have to park on street.

My heart was set on the vegetable bento, and my husband had karaage bento. I really enjoyed my bento which consiated of variety of side dishes. My absolutely favorite was tofu patties, which I ended up buying extra on the side. The kataage was bit hard as it was not fresh....it would have been nicer to heat it up.

We did not know there was no table but there were 3 stalls with a counter so we ate there quickly. The workers were very nice

Andagi, fried mochi balls (?), bento. All good! Friendly staff members. Sometimes slow service though when someone orders food to be made and next person in line is only to buy readymade stuff but still has to wait until the order is made for the first person. Not very efficient unfortunately.

Quick stop for delicious local Japanese style bentos! The garlic chicken is ono, and don't forget to grab a few sweet potato mochi and andagi for the road. The tofu patties are good too. There is a small drink fridge with soda and green tea for sale. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. Teruya's takes both cash and credit card.

Classic local-Japanese food at its best. Family-owned and operated, Teruya's was located in Ala Moana Shirokiya for 20+ years until it found its rightful place in the heart of Honolulu. All the bentos, donburis, and snacks are made fresh daily with portion size and food quality far exceeding the price.
You don't have to be a local at this local spot, there is something for everyone with service that can point you in the right direction if you aren't sure what to order. Homemade andagi (Okinawan donut) and sweet potato mochi should not be passed up if they have some left!

I was really excited to get a vegetarian bento here after seeing a picture on instagram! It was a great little lunch for 7.50 and fun to eat. Also the shrimp tempura roll made to order was really good! The andagi was very tasty with a crispy sweet exterior. :)
