Wow, some of the other reviews are harsh. Either management takes these comments seriously or the pandemic brings about additional changes that become "standard." Whatever it is, we had excellent customer service in a clean setting, and the food was great!

If you've read my other reviews, you'll notice how much I like convenient free parking :) This restaurant has free parking stalls in the structure. Since we had an early dinner reservation, we had plenty of reserved parking to choose from.

Personally, I appreciate the employees asking to verify vaccination. I have no problem

Shilawon is still as awesome as ever!

We frequented Shilawon for their AYCE option -- $34.95 per adult. The AYCE option offers brisket, pork belly, steak, beef tongue, bulgogi, spicy pork, chicken, bbq pork, lettuce salad, and house stew. Service is very brisk and efficient. The banchan options included kimchi, fish cake, broccoli, potato salad, and bean sprouts. The staff happily shared some ssamjang with us as well.

Due to the reservation requirement, they are able to space out the patrons and limit how many people were in the restaurant at the same time. Felt very COVID safe! We are here

Zero customer service and so rude.
When we left, they chased after us for the tip.
Tip is optional in the US and they do not deserve it.

All you can eat for a set price. Classic Korean BBQ, yummy KimChee, and attentive service. Great for large groups.
They could bring out more classic Korean bbq sauces though, some folks don't know what to ask for.

Best korean BBQ I've ever had. I am convinced that they provide all you can eat at a loss when ordering certain cuts of meat.
For context I have had korean bbq all over California. Best Ive ever had, family owned, and top notch service. Did not have to ask for them to change the grill. Did not have to wave them down for service. I Had no inclination that they wanted us out at any point despite ordering a lot of food, and they were offering food even when we had our fill. All signs of great korean bbq.

There is no Korean BBQ like this place. Every time I go some where else. I can't help but to compare this place to others. And like always, I realize how much of a mistake I have made going else where. This place for one, has an amazing owner and her family are just gems! They interact and make you feel at home. The meat is outstanding delicious, fresh, savory and just pure perfection.
Their service is always top and they treat you so great! Please visit and see for yourself!

New Shilawon Korean Restaurant is located in the Kaheka area. It's downstairs of a residential building. When you enter their garage off Amana St, immediately turn left and you'll see their reserved stalls. We made the mistake of driving up to the reserved stalls for residents as it's been awhile since we've dined here. Once you park, you walk up the ramp and the restaurant is to your right (up the stairs). You can't miss it. There is a temperature monitor and someone seats you. We made reservations because we didn't know how busy they were going to be on a 3 day weekend

Service was very good, but we were the only table in there. We did the All you can eat. None of the dishes were amazing, but were mostly ok. They wanted to charge extra for a lot of the stuff that other places would include for free.
They auto included 15% tip for our 2 person party. Which is fine in this case, but just FYI.

I’m at this restaurant at this moment. We made a reservation. There are 4 tables occupied, we ordered 30 minutes ago and no sign of even an appetizer (pancakes) not to mention any other part of our order…one of which is beef tartar so it doesn’t even require cooking😂. The can of soda is the totality of our meal after 30 minutes.
Awful unfriendly service!!!

I don't usually write negative reviews, but our experience here was really not good. I was excited to try it, since there were good Yelp reviews, and we were able to get a same day reservation for a large party.

I will say that they were very COVID conscious, with tables spaced 6+ feet apart.

However, their AYCE was a very odd experience. You don't get to pick your meats, instead they bring out all of them. For me, this is pretty inconvenient because I don't want to try them all. The worst meat was the pork steak - tasted like shoe. Even after the first round, you are required

Unprofessional service, inappropriate attitude and improper waiting time. I feel so sorry for this business, founded in 1994 is a joke, they don’t show much attention to customer service and their reputation. I work for a restaurant in Maui and I wouldn’t and will never treat my customers like this, meh😐

Called the day of to see if there was a wait for our party of 8 for dinner and she just reserved our table and told us when to come. They took our temperatures and noted our contact info. We were seated in their private room and ordered from the menu. We did not do AYCE nor cook ourselves. The short ribs were quite pricey but the grilled chicken was delicious. Lots of banchan dishes to chose from and service was quick and attentive. There are spaces to park under the restaurant in spaces that were marked 'restaurant parking'.

Usually I never write Yelp reviews, but this is the best kbbq restaurant my boyfriend and I have been to. We eat kbbq a lot too. I don't know why it's so dead, everyone is missing out! This place is so good and I would definitely recommend this place to friends who are visiting O'ahu.

Who doesn't love AYCE kbbq?! We came here on a Friday night and surprisingly it wasn't busy at all. Parking was free and easy to find in the structure right under the restaurant, just make sure you're parking in the restaurant parking area. As precaution we were temperature checked and was given hand sanitizer before being seated.

AYCE menu consists of your traditional kbbq meat options (brisket, chicken, pork options, etc), banchans, soybean stew, soft tofu soup. All I can say is... so much sides. I love it!!! They even give lettuce so you can make lettuce wraps. Yum! Meat is

I love it here! Been a great place to dine in with family, my boyfriend and friends! We come here often for their all you can eat special and every time, it's been an excellent experience. The staff are very kind and generous. Since the pandemic they've started taking extra precautions with making sure we are temperature checked, sanitized our hands and took us to our room to be distanced from other tables. For large parties, they were able to accommodate up to 8 people . (We called one first time make sure) ... Attached are pictures of us dining in , during. COVID-19 times and before

Korean food is super easy to find on Oahu, but there's something special about this place that I think warrants it a try!

Their plate lunch specials are definitely the way to go, especially during these times. For the low price point, ~$10, the portions are definitely reasonable and the flavors are everything you'd expect from a quick stop for some Korean food!

If you're a Meat Jun lover like me, add this place to your list!

It was pretty disappointing. Side dishes bland, fish undercooked, one waiter running around super busy while owner looking lady sat around looking at her cell phone - not really a sign they care about their business. The place did feel super clean tho. So I guess if u care more about cleanliness than food quality, there's that.

When quarantine hit and everyone started doing take out, I was very fortunate to stumble upon this place on Instagram. I've visited this restaurant for KBBQ before with my dear friend Paige and her mom, but during COVID lockdown this place was doing $10 take out plate lunches of all sorts and I just couldn't resist handing them my money.

If you want to invest $10 into a wholesome and filling plate lunch, New Shilawon is your spot. You pick the entree you desire and it comes with sides and rice and a guaranteed kanak attack afterwards. It's best to call ahead so you can use the driving

Haven't been here in a long while, so it was one positive experience for the return. Really appreciated Jandy, the manager & owner, for taking our reservation. Three couples all tried their shabu shabu were very pleased. There were plenty of good quality & tasty beef slices. Services were above average considering the fact that there was only who lady (maybe 2 the most) serving the entire restaurant; granted that it was not crowded). Had a rather long lunch because of all the chats, and yet, we were not been "evicted". Big thanks to the staff for tolerating our extended

#68 review for 2019 (checked-in 08DEC19).

Flavor: To celebrate completing the marathon, our running group chose New Shilawon. My dinner date and I selected the AYCE Course A. Course A came with seasoned ribeye, beef brisket, beef tongue, cubed beef frank, pork belly, kalbi, bulgogi, spicy pork, and BBQ chicken. All the meats were okay - the ribeye was a little tough, but the spicy pork stood out. There were seven banchans (side dishes) that accompanied the meal (seaweed, broccoli, fishcake, potato salad, two types of kimchi, and bean sprouts). All the banchans were okay - the broccoli stood

I'm a fan! This was actually one of the better Korean meals I've had in a while and the service is great. Way better than most other KBBQ places where you have to flag servers down and beg for everything. Not here, they kept changing our grill out with a fresh one, without us even having to ask. We were there for a while and I'm pretty sure we went thru at least 15 Grill changes between our 2 tables!!

The servers were smiling and happy to keep the meat and banchan refills coming. We even got a piece of premium marinated Kalbi at the end for our final course! It was thicker than
