Services
Dr. Olive is a graduate of Auburn University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree, and Southern College of Optometry where he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Olive has been practicing in Auburn since 2000. He and April have been married for 22 years, residing and raising their children in Auburn.
Moore's Mill Eyecare opened its doors for business in early 2015. While it is relatively new to the area, Dr. Olive has been residing in the Moore's Mill area for close to 15 years and has been serving patients in the Auburn, Opelika, Lee County area for 20 years. As he lived in and raised his children in the Moore's Mill area, a desire to one day open a practice that would serve the community grew.
We utilize state of the art equipment, including the Optos Retinal Imaging System and the Nidek OPD Scan III to quickly provide the most accurate information about your ocular health, and to assess your vision needs. Diabetic eye exams for our diabetic patients, monitoring of cataract progression, glaucoma, and macular degeneration are just some of the medical examination services we also offer.

If you are a new patient, please plan to arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time, to fill out our brief, yet necessary, paperwork.
Vision For Hope is the serving, philanthropic initiative of Moore's Mill Eyecare. Dr. Olive dreamed that his practice would be a means to serve the local community and global community. Vision For Hope began when Moore's Mill Eyecare opened for business in early 2015.
Since its inception, Vision For Hope has conducted two free vision clinics in Uganda, serving close to 800 patients in the communities of Bwerenga, Buloba, and Kampala, as well as orphaned and imprisoned children housed in the country's child prisons.These clinics provided free eyecare, vision screenings and glasses to individuals who would never have an opportunity to see an eye doctor or have an exam and services in their lifetime otherwise.

I am so glad that I found Dr. Olive after moving to Auburn 3 years ago. The office staff is very friendly and professional. You are seen at your appointment time - no waiting for 30 minutes/hour. Dr. Olive is the kind of doctor everyone wishes for - he is personable, professional and ensures you understand exactly what is going on with your eyes. (Xavier's Mom) I moved to the area a couple years ago and could not find a great eye doctor. I moved here from Orlando. Let me tell you I have found him. Dr. Olive was so personable, very thorough, and amazing with my son. His whole staff was so great that I made a appt. for me for next month. I've been going to eye doctors since I was 12, and I'm now 37 and he is by far the best one yet. My son who's grown and has had his fair share of experiences and usually hates the eye doctor, loved him. Thank you to your whole team for being so welcoming 🙏😊

I moved to Auburn in 2012, but continued to see my optometrist back home for years, because she is AMAZING! Needless to stay, Dr. Olive & Moore's Mill Eyecare had big shoes to fill, and they certainly filled them! Dr. Olive is attentive, extremely thorough, and kind. Joanna was so patient helping me pick out my glasses. I must have tried on almost every pair in the store, but she maintained a positive and helpful attitude the whole time, which was so appreciated for an indecisive client like me. Worth every penny - highly recommend!

Dr. Olive and the staff here are all amazing! They are so kind and truly care. I had called 4 other clinics in the area to see about getting a piece of metal out of my boyfriend’s eye, and none of them wanted to be bothered with it since it was on a late Friday afternoon. I called MMEC, and they had my boyfriend in and out within an hour, staying past closing hours to get him taken care of. Doctor Olive even had him come in on a Saturday just to make sure he was okay and that everything had healed properly. The kindest and most thorough staff you will ever come across!

The workers were very polite and helpful. Everyone had a bubbly and kind attitude. The doctor was VERY knowledgeable and explained everything in depth. I have never left an eye appointment so thoroughly informed or at ease. My insurance was explained in depth as well as what my insurance did not cover, I was given a discount on. I had an awesome experience and I encourage anyone with eye care needs to visit here! ASAP!

Most friendly staff I have ever interacted with in my life. Even over the phone you can tell they are smiling and happy. JC is amazing. Dr. Olive is wonderful and actually takes the time to explain your issue and not just what it is but why it is that way and even the science behind it. Other doctors I have felt rushed and like I never quite understood what was wrong with me or why they were giving me a certain prescription. Thank you Dr. Olive and Staff for being amazing!

Moore’s Mill Eye Care is the best! Especially if you have an astigmatism and want contacts. Dr. Olive is the first eye doc to let me give contacts a shot and I love them. April out front is so sweet and welcoming and JC is one of the most caring sweet ladies have ever met! They have been fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them. From beginning to end the whole process was a breeze and super comfortable!
