I'm Nicole "Naya" Calmels and I'm so happy that you've found my website! Whether you're exploring my offerings as an athlete looking to enhance performance and prevent injury or a person who is dealing with chronic pain and hoping to find a way out of it -- I've been there and I feel you! I discovered Pilates in 2006 after sustaining a debilitating back injury while working as a firefighter/paramedic.

I was injured at 25 years-old, when I was in the best shape of my life. My back injury turned my whole world upside down. I saw countless doctors and physical therapists, took the pain medication they gave me and stopped doing everything that brought me joy because it was too painful to do much of anything at all.

A no-nonsense healer for anyone looking to move better, get in shape, recover from injury or maybe just avoid one. Naya is a person I find very easy to be around and I enjoy the tremendous feedback about injury recovery/prevention and protecting your body as we age. Great online classes (with cool locations) and in person options. I love supporting small businesses and this is one worth your time!

I decided to try Pilates classes through Mindful Movement after years of feeling pain in my knees. While I have done cardio and weight lifting for years, I have only recently started taking the time to work on my posture and flexibility. Virtual classes through Mindful Movement have helped me become more aware of movement patterns in my body. I did not really know what to expect at first and quickly realized the great benefit Pilates can bring to my health and wellbeing. Some days, I feel that the only time I can truly relax is during my virtual sessions through Mindful Movement! Online classes

Naya is just plain awesome! Great cueing, extremely knowledgeable on what needs to be done to keep me moving. I'm a lifetime runner that has been plagued with injures the last few years. Under her guidance I was able to rehab and I'm proud to say I ran my first trail marathon in several years again this winter.

As a runner, I suffered from a debilitating injury that kept me from the activity I loved. Naya provided me the pinpoint, expert guidance necessary to help strengthen and rehab my muscles, and I am happy to say that I am out running again with no pain!
Naya has an effortless grace, calm, and grounding presence in her instruction that is hard to find.

Not sure why Google says Mindful Movement is temporarily closed but Naya is certainly open for business and has been all through the Pandemic with online instruction. Her classes are amazing. I felt a difference after my first class, which was online. I couldn't wait to attend the next. Naya gives very precise instruction and helpful tips all through the practice. She tells you which pitfalls to avoid in every move so that you're getting the maximum benefit from your efforts. This is particularly helpful for me because I've developed some bad habits. She has a library of videos on her website that

Naya is an excellent instructor and a credit to the name of her business. In both group classes and private sessions, mindful movements are gracefully and precisely cued with thoughtful encouragement and suggestions for correction.
