Its founder Phil Kavanaugh Sr. was merely 18 years old but had been working on cars in his parent's garage since he was 12 years old. Phil Sr was known area wide as an expert at frame repairs and was a master craftsman at body and paintwork as well. The shop lasted a few years at the Preston Hwy location but the condition of the building and the inability to purchase the building just didn't allow things to work out.

In 1992 the second generation of Kavanaugh's, I started to work in the family business. I literally started at the bottom, taking out trash and cleaning up behind the guard dogs. Folks it doesn't get more humbling than that. Over the years I worked in the shop with my father and with many of the great employees Kavanaugh's has had over the years absorbing every bit of knowledge I could like a sponge.

I can't say enough about the staff at this location, me and my buddies van broke down on our way to Nashville, Friday after 2pm, derby weekend.... they went above and beyond to find an aftermarket part that literally nobody should have. Got us out of there same day, seriously... if you need good, solid, trustworthy work... these are the people you call!
