I've been going to Smith's for over ten years and I always have a great experience. They are honest, fast, and affordable. You don't have to worry about being taken advantage of, over sold, or over priced here. Walking distance from a coffee shop or bar for your waiting convenience. These guys have been great for me and my now 26 year-old Toyota. (Yes, I do know the meaning of commitment.) I haven't yet asked them to do anything major, but they've come through for me on the several minor repairs I've needed with quick service, good communication, and competent workmanship.
Several weeks ago I needed to see my ignition replaced, so I set up an appointment. That same day, they were able to locate the right part here in town (no small feat when your car is vintage '92) and get the car back to me on the same day ($123 parts, $125 labor -- totally reasonable

I've been in Louisville for nearly five years now, and I'm happy that I've finally settled on a mechanic. I didn't actually have a car when I first moved to Louisville, but I eventually ended up with a 1999 Subaru Legacy. It was old and had plenty of miles, but I really loved that car. In two years I went through two mechanics and several repairs before settling on Smith Imported Car Service.
I am almost hesitant to give them five stars because I've only been to them three times. However, the first time alone was such a pleasant experience that I feel this star rating
