Camp Laurel - A premier summer camp located on Echo Lake in the Belgrade Lakes region of Maine. Sending a child to summer camp is a tremendous act of faith by parents. At Laurel, we take that responsibility very seriously and maintain an environment that encourages both safety and health and reinforces a positive self-image.
The summer at Camp Laurel is divided into two rotations. Campers focus on five activities each day on an alternating "A" and "B" basis. Younger campers are automatically scheduled for swim instruction, tennis lessons, team sports, as well as a rotation of waterskiing, crafts and an exciting Junior Fitness Program.
Camp Laurel's extensive sports program offers something for everyone. Five large athletic fields for soccer, baseball, football, lacrosse, softball and field hockey; a pro-sized hockey arena; a gymnastics center; numerous sports courts; a fitness center and fit-trail; five regulation basketball courts and an archery range allow campers to improve individual skill and experience the value of teamwork.
Our expansive dock system anchors a dynamic swimming program featuring American Red Cross instruction. We have a fleet of 5 Championship Mastercraft Ski Boats, 6 Hobies, 10 Sunfish, 2 Lasers, a Vanguard 420 and Hunter 170, 30 canoes and kayaks, and 20 Stand-Up Paddleboards. The camp fronts on Echo Lake, a 3-mile long spring-fed lake.
Our Riding program features 20 horses and a full outdoor facility, as well as two 12-stall barns. Seven instructors are responsible for teaching and horse care. Riding is an optional program and campers elect to participate three to five times per week. Safety is paramount. The Program is instructional, balanced with fun and fostering a love of horses.

Camp Laurel…my son fell in love after one night because “my cabin was my new home”. Jem and Debbie, in his words, are “my mom and dad for the summer, my camp parents”. The facilities are still a conversation in our house. The waterfront programs, specifically wake surfing and skiing, we’re my initial draw to Camp Laurel and the programs did not disappoint, he still loves talking about all the activities on Echo Lake. My son came home (reluctantly) with new friendships and a love for all things Camp Laurel. We signed my younger son up for this coming summer as soon as we could, he’s

My husband and I could not be more thrilled with the experiences of each of our children at Laurel. Our journey began when our oldest was looking for a camp. With an open mind, we toured several camps in Pennsylvania and Maine with co-ed, all girls, and brother/sister formats. After the visits, we decided on Laurel for a number of reasons, but primarily because it was a place where all three of our kids (one girl and twin boys) with very different interests could be together and thrive. Laurel has far exceeded our expectations. Our daughter went for the first time in 2019 after third grade and

This was my fourth summer working at Camp Laurel, and this place continues to amaze me. The attention to details, and professionalism of the directors is unlike any other camp I have worked at.
Working here is incredibly rewarding, and will help you develop skills that are necessary for working with kids and education. You will stand out amongst others in your field after completing a summer at Camp Laurel.
The facilities are phenomenal, and the programs are ran by elite level coaches who definitely know a thing or two! There is every state-of-the -art court/field you can think of, and Camp Laurel

Camp Laurel has been a place that I have been able to call home over the past 13 years. It’s hard to believe that my family’s time at Laurel has come to an end. The countless memories that my siblings and I have made are ones that we will cherish forever. I couldn’t have been luckier to have spent 9 summers in such a beautiful place. While things were tough this summer due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I felt as if camp did it’s best to make sure that every camper was safe and taken care of. I did feel though, that some of the traditions that I had heard about from my siblings during their

Let me start by simply saying that I loved my summer at Laurel. Working as an Acadian Specialist and taking care of the youngest girls at camp was truly a joy and an experience I would repeat in a heartbeat.
I loved the people I had the privilege of working with and feel that I have met many of my lifelong friends at Laurel. The program staff at Laurel are incredibly talented and not only teach the kids so many valuable skills, but the staff as well. Not to mention, you get to spend two months living in one of the prettiest places on earth.

BEWARE of this camp. I just had a friend come back home after working here and she had nothing but horror stories. She was harassed by staff and had to work 16 hour days with only 6 days off the entire summer. The horses were in poor condition and bought without a care in the world for their background or condition. Owner should be ashamed of himself.

Camp Laurel has given me the best 8 summers of my life. I started in 2012 and was a super senior in 2019. I was able to lead the camp with my best friends and so much spirit. Camp Laurel has given me so many memories that are unbreakable and that will last a lifetime. Camp Laurel is home forever and shaped me into the person I am today

You might think that someone's best summer of their life was not one spent working, but for me it was. Perhaps it was because not a single day felt like work-- I guess that old saying about not working a day if you love what you do is true after all. Camp Laurel is a break from reality, for staff and campers alike, set in a gorgeous area on a pristine lake. Nowhere else allows campers to try out the incredible activities offered here, from the aerial park to sailing to horseback riding to Chef Camp and everything in between, while forming such strong bonds with other campers and their counselors

I discovered Camp Laurel online one evening, browsing the internet looking for jobs to satisfy the summer between my graduation from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) and matriculating into law school. Little did I know that clicking on that link would have such an everlasting effect on my life. From the moment I stepped foot in Maine, (for the first time I may add) I had never been greeted with such an inclusive, family environment from the camp administration and staff. Camp Laurel's staff is truly global and I now have friends from places I never dreamed of. Camp truly changed my life and
