There are many ways to date vintage clothing, from the fabric composition to the labels to the closures to the styles. At Hello Vintage, we label each item with the decade or exact year the item was made. That way, you know exactly how old each item is, and we guarantee the authenticity of each item we offer.
We lived our Storage Wars dreams and bought an abandoned storage locker full of vintage clothing! A little love for our 1920s velvet devore collection with some history behind this stunning textile! I am reviewing Hello Vintage as a seller. Carolyn came to my mom's house and methodically went through her extensive collection of vintage clothes and accessories. I appreciated that she took Covid precautions and was on time. In fact, she has the perfect balance of professionalism and fun. While I know I could get more money selling these items on my own, the amount of time it would take me to do this would be insane. Plus, she's so knowledgeable, I got many mini-lessons in vintage clothing along the way. She is respectful, energetic and honest. What more could you ask for?

The most and best I've bought at once. I was in the market for men's ties. I was having trouble finding some that stood out without being gaudy. A friend of mine recommended Hello Vintage based on both the selection and the owner. Carolyn helped me pick out an amazing array of over a dozen unique and wonderful specimens. I doubt I could find their like anywhere else. My eyes started straying to the rest of the store--jackets, shirts, and accessories--and it was a miracle that I only picked up a tie bar. But I'll probably be back for the rest and I'm looking forward to

This is one of my favorite stores in Oakland. Carolyn, the owner, has such a good eye for vintage pieces. No two things on the rack are the same so I could spend HOURS looking at/trying on pieces.
I appreciate that she writes all the tags & picks all the items herself. She's more than a business owner she's really connoisseur of vintage clothing.
I wish I had more to write but this place is perfect & I thats the only word I have to describe it.

I was looking for a special place to sell my Chinese grandmother's vintage clothing after she died several years ago in hope of giving them some new life. My grandmother never threw out anything and kept decades of fashion in her closet, which included a lot of cheongsam dresses from southern China and Hong Kong. Picture this: it was the day of a Jazz Age party, and I decided at the last minute to actually try to find clothing that was theme-appropriate. I searched Yelp, and Hello Vintage popped up with amazing reviews (and a reasonable distance away from me). As soon as I entered, Carolyn's warm welcome made me feel like I found the right thrift store for my needs.

An amazing owner operating store. There are so many cool and rare clothing , pins , Shoes, ties and more in this store.
I bought the coolest tie, that you can not find any where and probably can not find the duplicate. My 7 year old bought bunch of pins and a vintage American Girl doll desk. Made her day as well.I highly recommend Hello Vintage Store.

Carolyn was such a gracious shopkeeper, conscious of my time but also truly invested in helping me find pieces. She gleaned some of my style from the way I was dressed and a couple of dresses that I chose and came by the dressing room with a couple of beautiful dresses. I ended up with two practical but striking 80's style midi dresses. I'll definitely come back and look forward to the store's growth. Thanks for the experience!
