Came in 30 mins before closing because we were starving. We came all the way down for Malasadas, but eventually came across a unique and very welcoming On On Chinese restaurant. Coming from LA to Hawaii to enjoy a bit of fried rice, super crispy orange peel chicken and the Lo mein which was super delicious! The owner Jamie has outstanding customer service and allowed us to stay in a little past closing hours to enjoy our food. When in Hawaii, you should definitely stop here for some authentic Chinese food.

First timer here at On On Chinese Restaurant. Although the interior decor is above average than how your typical chop suey restaurant looks, the food was a bit disappointing. We ordered gau chee main, ginger and green onion cold ginger chicken, and stuffed eggplant. When the orders arrived, we noticed right away the smaller portions. Not impressed. We don't plan to return.

This is definitely one of our new favorite restaurants. Very simple and amazing Chinese food. We had a large variety to try. We couldn't stop eating. Everything was so amazing. The owners are super kind. They kept checking on us and making sure we were doing great. The food had amazing flavor, and perfect size servings. We could not eat everything. Check them out.

Wish I had read the reviews before stopped in for lunch today. Should have been a clue that there was no one in the restaurant during lunch hour. The lady who was probably the owner was so rude and nasty. I been trying to frequent local restaurants during the pandemic to help them survive but this one doesn't deserve my hard earned money. Sad because the food is decent. Stay away unless you want to subject yourself to nastiness.

Ordered minute chicken cake noodles, beef chow fun and egg fried rice for takeout. They got my order mixed up, instead of egg fried rice I got egg omelette. I wasn't upset as they were busy with all the takeout for Father's Day dinner. We were disappointed that all the dishes has no taste, not enough salt or seasoning.

On On is located on Kapahulu right across Safeway and though they've been at this new location for quite awhile I've shamefully never been here.
For the size of this location they have a impressively decent amount of seating and was instantly greeted by delightful staff and now the decision begins...menu is the usual impressive mind-blowing choices of mouth watering goodness though my go to is the standard Beef

I tasted better for that price??? Over rated!! Roast duck is a hot item she said !! duck is so so !! Char Siu old and dry! Duck left over from yesterday , she say just cooked ?? Lol if you don't like my review next time don't give me the scraps from yesterday!!! no mask too. I said I was going to happy days then she said why go there no so good with the parking.. who ever made a good review on this restaurant must be related to the owner.. I wasted my money , time and appetite .. first time to eat here, not no next time !!! I'll move ON AND ON to another Chinese restaurant!!

Rude and ugly personality. First time trying out ordering food she look at me head to toe and scanned my look and looked at my Vitiligo skin discoloration and told me " no I won't make food for you". There was no one else then me and the owner lady and men. Okay it was very very hard to let go what she did to me so I called 911 and police came by. Police was helpful in this situation understood how hurtful this kind. judging people by the look.
I didn't argue with the owner when she was giving me ugly personality but I did call 911 for ignorance?

The last day of my birthday week off in September 2020 made me stop off at On On Chinese restaurant when I was scouting new places to eat. I ended up getting a combination plate B, because that sounded pretty good, instead looking thru the menu. There's always next time.
On On Chinese restaurant is a casual restaurant tucked away on the quiet side of Kapahulu Avenue, away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. It's a nice residential restaurant that you can go to any time for cheap eats whenever you feel like it. I ended up here since I wanted to try out new places in the neighborhood

The food was yummy. I had the Mongolian beef. Not too spicy but very flavorful. My wife had garlic ginger oysters. I found the hostess/waitress to be direct but kind. I treated her with respect and she warmed up. Reading some of the reviews about being treated rudely, I can only say that a little understanding of cultures and a little bit of honey go a long way.

Located on Kapahulu Avenue visible from the street between Safeway & Leonard's Bakery on the East side of the street. My mom likes it here I prefer another restaurant, however there Cake Noodles is very good! Little more on pricey side. The Aunty on the phone has bit CHALLANGE in understanding or hearing so if you make a phone order repeat and confirm prior to hanging up. In the pics is Chicken Mushroom over Cake Noodles & Kau Yuk!

Food was really good. The lady taking our order was nice but rude at the same time. She pretty much told us that we ordered too much and kept asking if we were sure if we wanted to order two of a dish. We mopped pretty much everything. The other thing is that the water and tea kinda tasted like soap. It wasn't overwhelming but enough to make you order a soda.

It has been a long time since I've eaten there. Ever since this pandemic happened this restaurant was very good and let me order the lemon chicken and gau gee. Also in order to use your debit or credit card, gotta spend a minimum amount of 10.00 or more, which i did. In these tough times they will give you a 10% off your take out orders when you pick it up. In this case the cashier was very happy with the take out orders and trust and believe when they give 10% they will do it because everywhere people who are having difficulty with getting food and things, and it does help. Went in for dinner, had one table that was about done we waited for about 10 mins while waiting for someone to take our order. They had a take out order that came and then they took a phone order by then I stood and waited for them to finish the call.
I then told them that I would make a take out order instead. Order their chicken and cream corn soup. Paid and left. When we went to taste it there was no flavor and barely any chicken or corn and you could taste the cornstarch. We use to go to the mccully location and we miss it.
