In 2004, Pizzeria Luigi first opened its doors in the wonderful community of Golden Hill - overlooking Downtown San Diego. Since that time, we have been serving award-winning New York style pizza. Pizzeria Luigi's success is a result of being a neighborhood, family friendly establishment serving whole pizzas, pizzas by the slice, and simple Italian dishes.
We also were there at the dawn of the nascent local Craft Beer scene and industry, supporting the new breweries that opened in town. This success helped open a second location in North Park in 2009. In 2017, Luigi opened a third location in Imperial Beach. Growing up, owner Luigi Agostini lived in Varese, Italy - north of Milano.

The best is the crime scene. But order that as a whole pie 🍕 , for your own benefit. Other slices of literally anything else are also delicious. Always good. Always fresh. Great people and just good vibes here. Haven’t tried the pasta but saw a dish of spaghetti 🍝 and it looked 💣. I can’t imagine they aren’t less than great, considering how much quality and care goes into their pizzas. Wonderful spot, great food, lots of beer options.

First, there is no question this pizza is my favorite in all of San Diego. Second, their staff is always friendly. Here comes the but...I've noticed fewer toppings and more crust. Their crust is great, but I like sauce, cheese, meat, and veggies even more. That being said, still my favorite in all of San Diego. You should try it, and tip well; their staff deserves it.

This pizza joint is amazing. I love that you can get a whole pie or individual slices. The customer service was great and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They have brews on tap and in cans also. An old school jukebox and all the slices I tried hit the spot. I’ll for sure be visiting again.

Came in ordered 2 of the 2 slices and a drink specials and 10 piece buffalo wings, 5ish minutes later pizza came out munched that and about 25 min later asked about the wings and they hadnt made em yet so the lady working said "how many was it? 10 piece? more minutes" 5 ish passes she gives me my wing order just to get home and find only an 8 piece wing. Just wondering if i could get those extra two buffalo wings i paid for. You guys only sell 5 or 10 piece so idk how i ended up with 8

Been coming here for years and the quality never drops. NY style extra thin crust. Toppings are all great. The ricotta cheese is not to be missed. They do it right. You can order a whole pie or by the slice from whatever's in the case. Fresh pies for slices are coming out all of the time. This is our favorite and go to pizza place in SD. Beats the pants off that other popular NY style pizza place in town!

This place was ok. The pepperoni pizza was decent. The garlic knots were pretty good, but we were not offered marinara sauce with them. The bbq chicken pizza slices were not fresh or hot, which was disappointing. I would give this place another shot if I'm in IB, but with other food options here, it will not be on the top of my list.

An outstanding addition to Imperial Beach. I am a fan of being able to buy their fresh baked large thin crust pizza by the slice.
Two slices & a drink make for a quick, affordable meal. The slices are Always fresh!!! No sad looking slices that have been waiting around for who knows how long.
Fresh Slices! I see them & I start to salivate & saliva is noted as a relaxation response. Going to Luigi's is a relaxation experience for me. Soothing. Calming. I feel safe there. It's like a mother's womb with pizza.

Italiano to the core.
I once knew a boy named Luigi Palestini, we couldn't figure if
he was Italian or Palestinian, didn't matter, dude went off and
got into religion.
Speaking of, the pizza here is "religiously righteous" as in "DELICIOUS"!
Kind of near the IB pier area way down at the end where only "loco's"
(locals) hang out which kinda' don't fit into the scheme of things, but...
pizza and offerings are everything great that one could only hope for.

You can buy slices here or of course, the whole pizza. Service is super fast and friendly. I tried the pepperoni and also the pesto with mushroom. They were delicious, but one thing I didn't think would take the spotlight is the crust. The crust tasted amazing! I kept eating my fiancé's crust. I recommend this place for a quick bite.

You can also get whole pizzas and they have a number of their own creations or you can customize your own. We especially enjoyed the Capone (pepperoni, sausage, and meatballs).
The whole pizzas only come in one size (basically 8 large slices, I believe).

I thought I had reviewed this place already but it appears I haven't. I came here for the first time about 3 years ago. Pizza was really good, although it did take a while for it to be ready. They have board games for you to play when you are bored. I'll definitely be coming back but I'm tired of going to try new places alone :(

Talk about a hard working lady! We came in on Sunday and she was running around in the heat taking care of everyone - and she was doing a great job!
On the other hand the pizza here is really good - this place is turns out a good pie! They have a good selection on beer, outside seating during the craziness and it's a simple place to get pizza, but good.

I love the vibe to this restaurant. Great people. I asked if they would make me a vegan pizza to buy by the slice and they did. I bought 5 slices @ $3 a piece. We all liked it. Only complaint is that the vegan cheese was not that fantastic. They use Daiya vegan mozarella. Wish they used Violife. I love the art that surrounds the restaurant. Pizza crust is pretty thin and crispy. I personally prefer a thicker regular crust.
