Parish Day School is one of the few not-for-profit, religious centers in the country-not to mention Virginia Beach-to be NAEYC accredited.
Parish Day School was established as part of the Eastern Shore Chapel in 1962. Our center is the first Level 5 rating received in the city of Virginia Beach for Virginia Quality. As a NAEYC-accredited child care and preschool, we focus on the spiritual, social, physical, emotional and cognitive development of the children in our care.
All of our teachers are annually trained in the highest quality practices in early childhood education through programs and professional development offered by our NAEYC Accreditation, Virginia Quality level and partnership with Virginia Beach GrowSmart. Our lead teachers all have degrees-which range from AA and CDA to bachelor's and master's degrees.
The Parish Day School uses the philosophy and strategies in The Creative Curriculum to allow children to reach their age appropriate milestones. The goals and objectives of the curriculum promote Social/Emotional, Physical, Cognitive, and Language development through teacher-directed and child-centered activities.
Our Program is for Boys and Girls beginning at age 2. Little People's Creative Workshop has developed a time-tested dance program to introduce, guide, and nurture these abilities. Children will learn self-confidence, self-esteem, balance, flexibility and coordination, improved self-awareness, improved sensory-perceptions and creative thinking through dance and movement.

After touring several day-school/childcare facilities a year ago, Parish quickly became my #1 choice. It exceeded my expectations, and the environment they create for the children is truly the best I've seen. I feel 100% comfortable taking my child here and would recommend it to anyone.
