Hello, My name is Yin Thong, owner of Bambu.

Welcome to my restaurant! I grew up in a small village in Vietnam with the rich tastes and flavors from my ancestor's cooking. As a young woman, I was fortunate enough to travel to Hong Kong and experience the taste of Chinese food far beyond my own imagination.
Services
Steamed wheat flour bun stuffed with pork, egg, Chinese sausage, shiitake mushroom, yellow onion. The Bambu take on this classic regional dish with lemon grass, yellow onion, basil, bamboo shoots, celery, carrots & mushrooms infused with broth that will clear your sinuses and warm you up from the inside out!

We enjoyed a "high tea" on a Sunday afternoon.
The food was good, nothing to complain about.
The service was okay, but it was too busy to expect more.

Great food and atmosphere, friendly staff but a little bit understaff in my opinion.
Unfortunately the cutlery and glasses were poorly polished and I found a piece of hair in one of the dishes.

We had the honor of experiencing an omakase of a lifetime. We were astonished at the level of detail Chef Joey put into his artwork. Because that's what it truly was, artwork. He constantly plays with different flavors, textures, and combinations to ensure that he continuously expands what we believe sushi to be. Food is his passion, and you could feel how happy he is when he sees you enjoying his creations. Chef Joey is one of a kind, and he earnestly tries to put forth his best work with his customers in mind.

Now on to the food. The number of courses varies based on the season and the

We came to do a Omakase dinner with sushi chef Joey and we were blown away. There was course after course of amazing and unique flavors he made for us to try, it was unlike anything we have ever had. Cannot recommend this enough! We will be back!

Ordered take out. I got the regular pho and tum yum soup. Pho didn't come with enough broth and taste was just ok. The TumYum soup tasted like it came from a can. Not good at all. First and last time eating from here.

Customer service was good and the staff were very inviting. However I don't think I will come back. The pricing for the food was high for the portion and the food was okay, nothing phenomenal.

Ordered on internet this evening gave me a ready time of 5:07 pm
Arrived at5;13 pm they did not look at internet orders so it hadn't been prepared ,,,fair enough. No big deal.
they handed me my order at 5:42. Hey mistakes happen.
Took home. the crispy egg rolls were greasy and tough , could not cut through them . The potstickers were cold and doughy the wonton soup was good the tempura shrimp , almost ok.
This is my3rd time ordering from Oakdale. I was grateful they opened in Oakdale because Maplewood has been very good every time I visit.
To bad the only only thing these restaurants

Bambu is a pan-Asian spot in a stripmall in Oakdale. It labels all its vegetarian dishes (nearly all of which are vegan by default), but is too safe/generic in its recipes and didn't leave much of an impression. The Twin Cities is blessed with excellent Indian, Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese places; Bambu comes across as a tribute band playing the greatest hits. It's fine, but not the real thing.

The vegetable spring roll ($3) is utterly bland and forgettable, consisting of rice noodles stuffed inside a rice wrapper. get the Vietnamese crispy egg roll ($5 for two) instead, which is much

Safe to say I will never eat at this establishment again. Rude service. Rushed food/undercooked. Called to inform them of my experience and the lady in the kitchen. The (cook). Then starts yelling at me basically telling me I was lying. Long story short. Never again. 56$ worth of trash. Wish I had two more hands to give them 4 thumbs down.

We have not ordered from Bambu for years (not really sure why). Tom Yum for the spouse, lemongrass chicken for me, and orange chicken for the kids. This all went over incredibly well. I think the sticky rice was a little overdone, a bit gummy, but not a deal breaker for me. All our dishes tasted appropriate. Veggie egg rolls were delicious. The menu is pretty large so that gives me a little pause but I can't deny the quality of the food we had tonight. I think we'll be ordering from here again.

Food took longer than expected on a Thursday night. Sushi was initially missing from order and shaking beef was not worth the $17 charge as the meat was tough and the portion small.

Such a cute little restaurant!
The staff was extremely nice & kind to us.
I ordered a Bao Crispy Chicken.
Because it’s a Take Away, the Bao bread, Chicken and Salad were all served individually actually. I still enjoyed the food.

Awful experience ordering take out from Bambu after previously seeing it as a moderately high end eatery here in Haarlem, however when the order arrived things were missing and food was cold. Ordered duck and pancakes and came without hoisin sauce, and a "tikka masala" and naan. I can tell you that wasnt tikka masala by anyone's standards, more so a lot of chicken with a sad oily sauce, (if you can call it sauce)...
All in all a sad story in my experience. Not authentic asian food.

Found this little Gem when looking for a late night dinner (around 9 PM on a weekday)
The food was delicious, full of flavours/spices and presented beautifully.
Location is amazing on the Grote Market where you can enjoy the beauty of the city.
The best part though of our meal was the wonderful and friendly service from the staff and the owner. Kudos!!!

We wanted to support local businesses & opted to order from Bambu vs a chain. We order the orange chicken & Kung Pao chicken. Neither of us finished even half of our meal. The amount fish sauce used was really overwhelming in every bite. The Kung Pao didn't even have a hint of us spice & came swimming in the thinnest sauce that was the consistency of watered down soy sauce. Orange chicken had no orange flavor at all. We're glad to see they have good reviews & loyal customers, but this just didn't hit the mark for us.

I stumbled on this place based on it's great reviews. The location isn't flashy, but the great food more than makes up for it! I love stocking up on sushi, and spring rolls here!

Hungry for fresh spring rolls so I ventured to the newest location of Bambú in Oakdale. Its in a great place and it is so clean and pretty inside. There are 6 seats at the sushi bar and plenty of other seating in the well lit space. It was a quiet night-prob because of the snow but plenty of staff and they were all super friendly.
I ordered the regular fresh spring rolls that come with the house made peanut sauce. Main course was chicken Pho and hot tea. The biggest problem is everything is so delish you want to eat every last drop but the servings are plentiful!
This would be a great

Very good food - a bit slow. One table/ one meal at a time. Been to this location a couple times and they just don't seem to have enough help. I will go back, just plan in the time. I don't think they have the sushi bar finished yet? I do like their menu divided into Thai and Vietnamese.

FYI this is right next to Big thrill factory, the former Rainbow because it mapped on Google over to Hy-Vee but it's across 1from Hy-Vee
