Nestled in downtown St. Paul, Ruam Mit is the perfect place to enjoy some of the most delicious Thai & Lao food this side of the river. We also offer a place to throw a party. In the Summer of 1989, Ruam Mit Thai Cafe started its humble beginnings as a family business at 544 Saint Peter Street, just two blocks away from its current location.
Since then, Ruam Mit has gone through many different changes over the years; including moving to its current location in 1996, growing from a restaurant with eleven tables to twenty, changing ownership within the family, and even a slight name change ("Ruam Mit Thai Cafe" to "Ruam Mit Thai, Inc.").

Food was 5 stars. Lowered one star for notable smell of gas. It was noticeable outside but more potent inside and clearly coming from the kitchen. For this reason, we almost left before sitting down. Glad we stayed to eat. Might need to get the kitchen checked out. The pad thai and Masman curry were great! Portions were generous!

This is my first time ordering from this place. I ordered a take out via online. I got the 27. Gaeng ped pla (fish curry). Portion size, spice level (medium), and flavor is on point. The rice.. omg you can tell.. the steamed rice is made the old fashion way. Not like the rice cookers we use at home. At least I hope what I'm saying is accurate based on the smell of the steamed rice. I just wanted to add that the curry dish was a tad bit sweet for me. But overall very delicious. I'll have to order their other dishes next time (whenever I forget to bring my lunch to work lol).

This is my Mom's favorite Thai place in the metro area. She loves the whole fried fish topped with cubed ginger, citrus, dried shrimp, herbs and a tangy sauce (she calls it the fish with all the good junk). I think Ruam Mit is very good, but I'm a curry lover and there are places where I like the curry better. Their fresh spring rolls are pretty fantastic though!
