Mental Health Association
Through education, advocacy, empowerment, and treatment, MHA helps everyone face their challenges and make lasting positive changes. Parents today are faced with the challenge of raising children in an increasingly complicated world. We offer a number of programs that promote positive parenting and support parents with this difficult, yet rewarding, task.

Mental health is about more than our struggles - it is our ability to realize our capabilities. To connect with others. To build strong relationships and achieve our goals. The first five years of a child's life are when 90% of brain growth occurs. The key to a child's success tomorrow is preparing children's mental and emotional resilience now.
Services
The Mental Health Association of Frederick County builds a strong foundation of emotional wellness for the whole community by preparing resilient children, securing vulnerable families and standing with people to face crises together.

At MHA, we envision a future where children can grow and thrive without fear, where good mental health is valued, where people of all ages know when and how to seek help for emotional or family problems without shame, and where everyone will have access to the services they need without barriers.
24 hours a day/365 days a year, we are only a phone call away, and when you need to talk with someone face to face, you can visit our Walk-In Behavioral Health Service. Online screening is one of the quickest and easiest ways to determine whether you are experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition.
As individuals, our mental health influences all of our perceptions, experiences and relationships. As a community our collective mental health forms the foundations of our homes, schools, neighborhoods and businesses. It doesn't just affect everyone - ultimately it connects everyone and helps us build up the community we share.
Helping children learn mental and emotional resilience now will help them adapt to the situations and setbacks they will face throughout life, and to become the strong, stable citizens our community needs. Making sure every child has a developmentally appropriate learning environment, and that early childhood educators have the resources and support they need to ensure each child's success.
Partnering with parents, early childhood professionals, employers and the whole community to help give children a strong start. A program providing comprehensive solutions for new and existing early childhood professionals offered at low or no cost.

Child Care Choices works to ensure that children have developmentally appropriate learning environments and that early childhood educators have the resources and support they need to ensure each child's success. We work with parents and educators when children display behavioral issues in preschool or child care and provide resources, events and workshops and activities to educate and engage families, early childhood educators and children.

Giving 1 star. I tried years ago when i really needed help. They could never get me in, always cancelled. So i gave up. For someone trying to seek help with rejection doesn't help. Not sure if it was when they first opened but the help wasn't available.

I loved that it was a walk-in clinic that sees children of all ages without an appointment. They are able to do a very thorough assessment of your child and give a professional recommendation on what steps to take next. If your child is having a mental health crisis and your not sure what to do this place is a life-saver. Your child can receive immediate one one one services vs sitting in the E.R. for hours waiting to be seen. They not only provide an assessment of your child(so you can decide if they need to be admitted to a facility, is it safe for them to come home, do they need to follow up
