Deep Eddy Psychotherapy
In my heart and mind I know that my relationship with [my husband] and with my family and friends are richer and deeper because of the tools that you gave me. I want to sincerely say thank you and tell you that my life is forever changed for the better because of our time together. Deep Eddy Psychotherapy is a psychology practice with three locations in Central Austin.

Jev and Sydnor Sikes built the first office on Deep Eddy Ave. in 1984 and invested whole-heartedly in their psychology training in individual and group therapy with national leaders and in training other psychologists in Austin. Over the years, the Sikes have helped build a vibrant counseling community in Austin.
Services
All therapy sessions are by appointment only. Payment for services can be made by cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, or HSA/FSA cards. We do not take American Express. We can keep a card on file so that you don't need to provide payment information each session. Many of our clinicians accept BCBS insurance and most accept Seton Healthcare Plan for Seton employees and Wholefoods Healthcare Plan for Wholefoods employees.
The article below describes the science behind personal growth, attachment theory, and the therapeutic process. It begins with a brief overview of attachment theory (which studies the impact of early family relationships), specifically looking at how childhood experiences influence how our brains become wired.
Deep Eddy Psychotherapy chooses therapists that are truly dedicated to their craft, excellent in their practice, and effective in creating meaningful, lasting change. You really can't go wrong when choosing a therapist from our practice, but not every therapist is the right fit for every client (and vice versa).
Whether you are at home, at work, or simply too busy to commute to the therapy office, you can get the help and care you deserve through online therapy. Online therapy, also known as e-therapy, teletherapy, and remote therapy, is just like regular in-person therapy. The only difference is, as the name suggests, you and your therapist work together online or over the phone.
Through developing more comfort with feelings, vulnerability, authenticity, and closeness, group therapy is fast and effective at helping people be themselves, like themselves, and trust and enjoy others. Most presenting issues have some connection to past or present relationships and how one feels about oneself, others, and one's life as a result of those relationships.

I hardly ever write reviews, but my experiences with my therapists at Deep Eddy warrant a review because they were truly life changing.
I did individual therapy with Sally for a little over two years, and she showed unmatched compassion, understanding, and empathy, and I could feel that she truly cared for me. She helped me integrate my past experiences into my story and provided me with valuable tools for functioning in ways in which I had always wanted throughout all facets of my life. I will always be thankful for her and the role she played in bringing balance and peace into my way of interpreting

I don't think they are accepting new patients. I have been trying to contact them via text, email and phone and the only response I get is automatic messages. Would not recommend if you're in need of a responsive place especially for mental health.

Highly recommend Deep Eddy for many reasons! The therapy I received was life changing and I recommend our therapist to my friends and family. The experience I had at Deep Eddy was incredibly professional and the environment is comforting. There is also the opportunity to have online also therapy which is helpful for busy schedules.

Couldn't recommend a better practice and practitioners. Owen is highly educated, empathetic and easy to trust and be vulnerable.

Highly recommend Deep Eddy Psychotherapy / Charlotte. I attended a virtual group session at the beginning of COVID to discuss how to manage stress during the pandemic. Charlotte facilitated an engaging group discussion that provided help and comfort during this unprecedented time.

Deep Eddy has been a part of my life for 7+ years. It's hard to put into words how I have evolved and how much it has meant to me. I've had amazing experiences with Dr. Charlotte Howard and Dr. Tori Olds. These women guide with an open heart and care so deeply. I have also been a part of a spiritual group led by John Howard, M.A. His depth, knowledge, and guidance of navigating the inner spirit is a true gift. The energy and beauty of this group nurtures me. These therapists are cutting edge in the realm of self care. I am always learning new techniques for more mindfulness and compassion for myself

As a busy professional skeptical of the soft, fluffy aspects of individual therapy before I began working with Deep Eddy -- I feel lucky to have found Deep Eddy and Dr. Charlotte Howard amidst what felt like a pretty nebulous path to finding a high-quality therapist in Austin. Deep Eddy meets you where you are, guiding your work at a comfortable pace, and they are always up-to-date on the latest science and research supported practices which I found very beneficial in my own mental wellness maintenance. Their booking and billing is clear and responsive as well and the office is thoughtfully designed

I was so sweetly surprised to find this practice late last year, via a google search no less! I first met Charlotte and have since had the pleasure of meeting and working with a few others in group settings. The intelligence, kindness, tenderness and lack of judgement I've found here has reminded me how very helpful the therapeutic process can be and how resilient I am. I'm a little sad I didn't learn about this practice earlier, I bounced around a bit trying to find a good therapy fit. It's so nice to find such a vibrant practice right in downtown Austin.

I cannot recommend Deep Eddy Psychotherapy highly enough. I've participated in trainings with many of the therapists from this team, and they are among the most capable and caring people I've had the pleasure to meet.
I recommend them for individual therapy, couples' work, group therapy, and professional training. The depth of experience and expertise in this organization is simply unparalleled.
