Age Related Macular Degeneration or AMD is common deterioration of the eye's macula over time due to the body's natural aging process. AMD can cause blurry vision, dark spots in your field of view and distortion. In severe cases it can even cause permanent loss of central vision. Cataracts are a common vision problem associated with aging. Nearly 70% of individuals over the age of 80 will have cataracts. In most cases, cataracts develop in patients over the age of 50 and become more prevalent with age. Cataracts are a clouding of the natural lens of the eye that occurs when certain proteins clump together.

Just had cataract surgery yesterday on my left eye and went for the upgraded lense so I can improve my vision. Amazing difference. Surgery was fast and painless. 30 min for surgery.. Prep and wait about an hour. Yesterday no pain after surgery just felt like a lash was in my eye but today all good and just a little light sensitive.
Will decide later if I will do surgery on right eye but because of my experience so far I'm leaning to not if but when. Once I do that I can toss all my eye glasses. I can see road signs and my phone already with the left eye.

My last couple of visits have been great. The process of checking in and going back to see the doctor has inly been about 10 minutes. So great! Dr. Liu is very professional and kind. She recent performed surgery on my eyelid after I had a basil cell removed. She does excellent work and you can hardly tell I had it done. Thank you!

I always had the greatest eye care with Dr. David Cler in Irvine, but during Covid he closed his Irvine office and was only taking patients in South Laguna which is a long drive from Long Beach. I have had so many problems with eye doctors in HB when I lived there that I was cautious about trying a new doctor out. In the past I had mediocre labs, warped lens and other problems.
Several friends mentioned Beach Eye. I was very happy with my whole experience. The secretaries were very friendly and helpful.

The doctor serviced my wife and I within 2 minutes of our appointment time, which is excellent by today's standards where doctors are notoriously late. Dr. Jwo was courteous and professional, and patiently answered all our questions. The receptionist was also very courteous and professional. Good job!

My primary care doctor referred me to Dr. McClousky and I was very impressed with her thoroughness and expertise in going over my glaucoma and cataract history. Her assistant technician Nel, was very knowledgeable as well. The check-in staff were very nice and I could hear how pleasant they were to people calling in on the phone as well.
