Long Beach Family Optometry is pleased to offer a wide range of optometric services, eye care products including eyeglasses, specialty eyewear, designer frames, and contact lenses. Our staff is happy to help however we can. From your first contact with us to your appointment and your follow-up, we aim to make your eye care experience great.
For the past 15 years Dr. Prasad has been your friendly, local, Long Beach Optometrist. He was born and raised in the Los Angeles area and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of California San Diego. From there, he went on to receive his Optometry Degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry.
Our Long Beach eye care center offers a full range of eye health services to clients of all ages, from children to older adults: routine eye exams and vision tests, eye disease diagnosis and management, and more. Welcome to Long Beach Family Optometry, your local eye care center. We serve our clients with a high standard of services for sharp vision and healthy eyes!
Because we provide both medical and routine eye care, we accept a number of insurance plans to help cover the cost depending on your individual needs. If you do not see your plan listed here, please give us a call and we would be happy to assist you. Our staff is also always available to answer any questions regarding your benefits.

I’ve been coming to Long Beach Family Optometry since 2014 and Dr. Prasad recommended the PRK laser procedure and it has been the best investment ever. Dr. Prasad and his team is very knowledgeable, kind and professional. I’m still seeing him every year and the high quality care is consistent every time. Highly recommend this place for all of your eye exam, glasses or contact lenses need.

Everyone was very nice and polite. Over all amazing service. Only thing was at the very end when it was time to pick glasses and lenses. I was never given my options or even told I had any. They automatically picked everything for me. The most expensive without letting me know I had other choices. My total came out to almost a grand. I paid thinking I had no other option. After leaving and discussing the price with my mother she thought the price was outrageous and recommended I call back and get a refund, get a copy of my prescription and get glasses somewhere else. This has been my family's optometrist for several years now and we love it. Dr Prasad is knowledgeable and truly cares about the overall health of his patients. The Optomap is a spectacular tool that he uses to keep us healthy and aware of our overall progression with every aspect of our health. The staff is kind and patient as well. They sanitize the glasses after you pick out your frames and the upgrades to the office are outstanding. They do exercise covid guidelines also. If you are searching for a new optometrist make an appointment today!

LB Family Optometry is the most pleasant doctor's office I can recall going to. I have been going here for nearly 5 years (just annually or to consult about contacts / glasses) and they are always professional, friendly, and on time. They explain everything (including if it is not covered by insurance) and eagerly answer all my questions. Even before Covid, the office was the picture of cleanliness! I highly recommend them.
