Owner, Eric Mead, is a true local boy- hailing from Landpark & Elk Grove, Eric starting working on cars in junior high school. While in high school he worked for European Sports Car Garage and upon graduation from high school he open his first shop; Midtown Foreign Auto Specialties. His current shop, Japanese Imports, has been in business since 1979 and is simply the best local car repair shop in the Sacramento Valley.

I was fortunate when my friends at European Sports Garage recommended Eric and staff at Midtown Foreign Auto to work on my Nissan Xterra. Eric has been a lifesaver! He always takes my calls! He never fails at walking me through car issues on the spot, side of the road, instant problem solving. He makes you feel important! He is truly the last of a dying breed of stellar , quality, fair, mechanics that get the job done right. I have been driving more than half my life and I have never had such an amazing experience at an auto shop as I had at Midtown Auto Repair!!
I just moved from Wisconsin to Sacramento and had my car shipped, which caused more than one problem. Some other shops wanted $175 just to listen to a noise and tell me what is wrong! Rob was so kind, as was the wonderful lady at the front desk and the gentleman who checked me in, and fixed my problem and even offered help with a ride (not close). Everyone is so nice and honest. They definitely have a new lifetime customer.

This is a truly honest/ethical auto shop. Even though they were more than qualified to handle my auto troubles, they did some extra research and found out my issue was covered under warranty and called around with local dealers to confirm that they could take care of my issue. The issue I had was one they dealt with fairly commonly, but it was more important to them to make me aware that I could be getting this service done at no expense than for them to capitalize on the need for repairs. I will definitely be recommending this place to everyone I know and be returning should I have other car troubles

After taking my Nissan Pathfinder to Nissan of Sacramento who tried to rip me off I call David and explained to him what my problem was and he told me to bring it the the next morning. David and Carlos both patiently listened to what my problem was and what I had already done to attempt to fix it, I told them what I thought was the problem but to check it for themselves. After a few hours David called and sure enough the problem wasn't even close to what the dealer wanted to charge me in excess of $1500 to fix.
