Services
New Leaf Counseling Group was founded by Mr. Logan Cohen in Charlotte in 2014. Logan is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), as well as an Approved Supervisor for the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors (NCBLPC).
I have known my whole life that I wanted to be a therapist, even before I was aware of the profession as a formal craft. I am a down-to-earth therapist with a warm & direct approach, with plenty of knowledge about how to help families, couples, and individuals who are ready GROW. I bring a strengths-based perspective to my work to cultivate a genuine working relationship founded upon unconditional positive regard.
Growth occurs when individuals confront problems, struggle to master them, and through that struggle develop new aspects of their skills, capacities, and views about life. Individual therapy is a place to gain insights, skills and resolution to whatever may be going on in your life that is keeping you stuck.
In order to get to a healthier and more productive place, we need to give up our fear of conflict, turmoil and resistance. Relationships can be one of the most rewarding, albeit challenging aspects of our lives. While they often begin with fun and excitement, over time issues commonly arise. It can be difficult to know for certain if it is time to see a professional counselor for relationship concerns.
Members of a cohesive group feel warmth and comfort in the group and a sense of belonging; they value the group and feel in turn that they are valued, accepted, and supported by other members. Group therapy can help you realize that you are not alone with social support, while also helping you take active steps to solve the issues at hand.

Awesome place. I've been talking to Logan for about six months now and have found him to be easy to establish rapport/"join" with, highly clinically savvy (he _always_ has good, relevant literature to suggest when we talk), compassionate, and honest. Ask him about a course he wrote called the "Balanced Man Plan" - lots of useful insights there that I haven't picked up elsewhere before. No complaints about the space itself, too - lots of parking and a cozy environment. Would recommend.

Logan is a great therapist and when it comes to his team at New Leaf, he has done a great job creating a diverse team of like-minded professionals. When friends or colleagues are going through hard times with Couples/Families issues, my first suggestion is to see Logan. Logan has a unique style that is clear & direct, but also warm and even a bit goofy at times. This makes the process both personal and, most importantly, REAL. It is important for a therapist/counselor to avoid “telling People what they want to hear.” The stress levels of clients are usually high and many therapists/counselors

I have never given a review online for anything, but after what I just experienced feel compelled to express my concerns. We had a pretty awful couples counseling experience today, which was also a first time therapy session. Knowing it was our first ever therapy session you would think that Logan might take some time to get to know us before making assumptions about our relationship. I couldn’t even finish one train of thought before he began repeatedly interrupting again and again challenging nearly everything I said. There was no way he could have gotten an understanding on the situation based

I have been engaged in clinical supervision with Logan for 2 years. I highly recommend him to other LMFTAs seeking supervision for licensure. His compassionate and sincere nature has been a consistent source of guidance in navigating the world of NC community mental health. I have been encouraged to see beyond behaviors and diagnoses to address the actual wounds of the person seeking healing. He is especially knowledgable about the discipline of marriage and family therapy, which has allowed me to learn about and explore a variety of therapeutic approaches. Most importantly, I am grateful for Logan

I've seen multiple counselors during my life, and Logan is by far the best! My fiancé and I have been seeing Logan for 6 months now and working with him has completely transformed our relationship. I cannot say enough about his skill set, his ability to empathize and understand each of our points of view and help us navigate through negative, ingrained patterns we developed over time. My background is in Counseling (MA in clinical counseling) so I was very picky when choosing someone to work with. I have no doubt in my mind we made the right choice, and can confidently say Logan will be able to

When provisionally licensed, I received AAMFT clinical supervision from Logan, and would highly recommend others to seek supervision with him through New Leaf Counseling Group. He is well-trained and highly skilled, and creates a collaborative learning environment that allows the space for one to grow and achieve their professional goals!

Extremely friendly, safe atmosphere with gifted therapists. There is no feeling of judgment or awkwardness here. I can speak for my experience with Dr Wong and say she's empathetic, funny and can connect in a very real way with people. Helped me turn my life around and get back to myself. If you are looking for a considerate, genuine and helpful safe place to sort your life out you should definitely make an appointment here. Best decision I've ever made.

Where do I begin; I'm very thankful to have had the opportunity to work with Logan over the last 7 months. Not only is Logan very experienced and professional, but he also made me feel safe and comfortable during each session. He helped me to leave an abusive relationship, and then worked with me on the recovery process afterwards. I feel like I've grown so much as person, and things that I learned about and discovered during our sessions I will utilize throughout my life.
