Services
Functional Fitness program led by Head Coach Matt Grimm. Workouts are programmed to optimize FUN and increase general physical health & well being. Join our Olympic Lifting crew led by Head Coach Tony Koens. Classes are focused on improving the snatch, clean & jerk, squats and also many movements found in our FF program.

Offshore isn't simply a gym, it's a whole community. Everyone from the coaches to members are welcoming the minute you step foot in the door. The space and equipment is incredible. Their programming is tough, yet always maintains priorities of health and safety. I joined when I first moved to Carlsbad over 4 years ago for a solid workout and was blown away by the people I met and friendships formed. I highly recommend Offshore enough for anyone from someone who's never done CrossFit to experienced athletes.

I've been a member here for about 4 years now and use the gym 4-5 times per week. The gym facility is large and spacious and fully equipped with a variety of equipment and apparatus including weights of all kinds, kettlebells, rigs, olympic lifting platforms, assault bikes, rowers and ski erg and a variety of other things to improve and challenge your fitness. There are many classes offered daily: CrossFit, Olympic Lifting and Competition as well as OPEN GYM all day long. There are ample restrooms and showers available which are always kept clean. You know something is good when you still want to give it 5 stars even 7 years later. The members at Offshore are warm, welcoming, competitive, and eager to learn. I know every gym thinks they are the best with the best members, coaches, etc, but Offshore really is the best with the best athletes. I recommend this for all levels and ages. Start where you are and join us to get where you want to be!

This gym is amazing! It is well-run and professional but also a family. The amount of space is great (and always super clean) and the hours can't be beat by any other CrossFit gym I know in the area. The coaches are super knowledgeable and helpful. They take pride in this place and helping people reach their goals and it def shows.
More critically and currently I would say is during this weird time of the Coronavirus closures of all gyms they have gone ABOVE and BEYOND by lending members gym equipment, setting up virtual classes and having great open communication.

I was visiting family in Encinitas during the holidays and got the chance to drop-in twice at Offshore Crossfit using classpass (4 credits each). I had one Oly class with coach Seb and one Crossfit class with Tom. Both classes were really good and I think the coaches did great. They were always around correcting and giving people advise along with some encouragement. I really liked the Oly class with Seb, he seemed really knowledgeable and gave me very accurate feedback on how to fix some of my Oly lifts.
The space itself is really nice and probably top 3 I've been to. Plenty of free parking

Found this place on yelp, before my husband and I moved here. Gave it a try, signed up same day. And man was that a great idea. This place is awesome, everyone is friendly, workouts are well programmed. Nice and clean with plenty of space. We also got some 1-1 sessions with Matt and he's the best. He super organized, and has a good understanding of the body and is always able to adjust for those who need it. I'm really excited to be apart of this community.

My wife and I have been working with Matt Grimm for 1-1 and attending classes. And we are really impressed with Matt, he's a very intuitive coach. He's always prepared, knowledgeable and supportive. I've trained with a lot of coaches and I've never left a review. Matt's classes and the 1-1 is worth a try if you're looking to start the new year off right.

Loved it here. I visit a lot of CrossFit boxes in my travels and this one's one of the best I've been to. Lots of space, well-kept equipment, and the coaches are really inviting, friendly and knowledgeable. I loved how the coaches encourage you throughout the WOD. I'll be back the next time I'm in Carlsbad, for sure!

I was on vacation and dropped in for two days. Met coaches Joe and Jason. Had great workouts both days and encountered friendly, welcoming people. Really nice open, clean facility. I reserved a spot online, paid, and signed a waiver. Which made dropping in very simple. The only tricky part was wodify sent me a confirmation email with their old address so I was late the first day. But they were very accommodating.
We plan to return to Carlsbad and I will definitely return to drop in.

It's been three months since I joined off shore CrossFit. It is the first time I've ever been to a CrossFit gym and I absolutely love it. I am glad I chose Off shore. I go in the evenings and I love all the coaches I've trained with so far - Jon, Vicky and Andrew. They are very patient and guide me with every movement. They emphasize more on the form than the reps. I've never felt out of place in their classes. That's more than I can ask for as a newbie. Joe, the owner is super approachable and handles any queries or issues in a timely way. The community is very supportive

I am just starting CrossFit and haven't been to too many gyms. But the trainers here are really great. I'm 64 and at another crossfit in seattle, although I was respected I couldn't help but feel that I was a bit of a problem to them (due to my age - they worried about me).
At Offshore CrossFit I've been respected, given personal training and greatly encouraged. Talked to the owner a few times and have great respect for his commitment to quality, small class size and value. Very impressive. Can't imagine a better place - and won't find one here because this

I did a drop in here while I was traveling. I've been to many boxes while on the road, and this is just one more box that has been welcoming to me.
I tried to make sure that I went during "open gym". Because I was not able to do their class. I had a program to keep for myself, and they were very accommodating.
I showed up a tiny bit earlier than needed, and the coach was still very warm and friendly. As a good guest, I went off to the side to warm up and stretch etc.
While stretching, I looked at their class. The coach definitely seemed to have a good grasp on training/technique

I recently started Crossfit for the first time and was absolutely terrified of what awaited me. I had nothing to worry about. All the coaches at Offshore are really nice and friendly. I was made to feel welcome and they really take the time to explain everything and make sure you're doing everything with proper form, etc. The workouts are tough, but that's what I signed up for. I have started to find myself actually excited to come to Crossfit, which I didn't think would happen. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking to get into Crossfit.

Been going here for almost 2 yrs and in that time have learned a lot about my physical abilities and what dedication & consistency will do. This being my first Crossfit experience, I was hooked after the first day. I think there was something in the water because now, I have to force myself to take a rest day.
