A semi-mount is a lady's wedding or engagement ring that is designed using smaller diamonds around the ring to accentuate your center diamond or precious gemstone. Lost Wax Casting is an ancient form of jewelry making, that Jeremy has learned through the years from his father and grandfather. First a design is hand carved out of wax. Then it is mounted in a flask and surrounded by plaster. When the plaster hardens, then the flask is put into a burnout oven and heated until the wax melts out.
Even the most skillfully crafted jewelry wears down over time. It is always important to have your jewelry inspected, and repaired when necessary. To ensure your jewelry stands the test of time, feel free to stop in - or send us your items for a free repair estimate. All repairs are done in house, and can potentially be completed within a few business days - depending on the work necessary.

Visited a couple jewelers and was looking for a Christmas gift for my wife before I checked out Gem Design. They had both the great service that I needed, and the great jewelry items that I wanted for for my wife. The employee that was helping me was very patient and knowledgeable, and I had her pull out most of the earrings they had there before settling on a nice pair of Green Amethyst earrings and an 18 inch string of gorgeous pearls. The wife absolutely loved them and is wearing them today on her first day back at work after the holidays. Thanks Gem Design. I'll be back!

I have had several pieces of jewelry fixed and redesigned and found everything to my liking with no problems with any of my diamonds. I have never left there unhappy with anything he matched all my diamonds to perfection. I would send everyone I know there especially for the one of a kind pieces. Jeremy is a professional and personable jeweler. His approach to his customers is always genuine and you can tell he wants to make his customers happy. I have purchased many things including an engagement ring and wedding band for my wife from Gem Designs and have always been impressed with the workmanship. I have since moved away from the Buffalo NY area with my wife and every time we come to Buffalo we bring the rings by to be "dipped" and polished by Jeremy which is always done with minimal wait.
