Services
We are very fortunate to have a team of highly qualified psychiatrists & therapists. Their unique approach to therapy and specialized education provides the first step towards successful assessment and treatment. Our team of psychiatrists & therapists believe that the foundation for healthy therapy outcomes begins with a solid doctor-patient relationship.
Choices Psychotherapy began as a sole practice in 1993, providing therapy to high- risk youth and families. By 1999, it was evident that the greater need was the larger community and Choices became a group practice providing skills and therapy to high-risk children and families. We have been committed to helping our clients find a path that supported a different direction in life that was more self-sustaining.
At Choices Psychotherapy, we offer a wide range of treatment options from experienced clinicians, including clinicians with specialized areas of focus. Our caring, compassionate therapists in our Minnetonka and Chanhassen MN locations can help you find your way through life's twists and turns.

Whether you are grieving a loss, struggling with a job or personal relationship, facing roadblocks you can't work through because of a trauma in your life, or always worried about tomorrow, Choices is ready to help. And you can rest assured that all Choices therapists and psychiatrists share our commitment to empowerment through choice and helping you become the best person you can be.

I've had a good experience so far with Dr. Z. He seems to listen to how I'm feeling and is willing to adjust my medications accordingly

Stay away from Ann Trench. I saw her for 2 sessions and she messed my head up more than a bad boyfriend or month long visit at my parents. Especially stay away if you have an eatting disorder - I've seen my far share of therapists for binge eating disorder in particular and she is by far the worst and has no idea what's she's doing.

I want to start off by saying my Therapist Jennifer is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately I had a horrible experience with Milos Z. I was diagnosed with ADHD at a very young age, and was re-diagnosed again recently. Milos Z absolutely refused to give me any help with my ADHD other than Strattera & Wellbutrin both of which did not work well for me. He told me that if I got re-diagnosed we could branch out and try something else. But, the week before I received my diagnosis back ( which was positive for ADHD ) I asked what kind of things he would be willing to try. And guess what... Strattera & Wellbutrin

I scheduled an appointment for major depression and anxiety. I accidentally missed my first appointment because I overslept. I called to reschedule the appointment and they said if you are late or miss your first appointment then they will not reschedule you. I know it was my fault for not being at my first appointment but a common symptom of mine and many others is oversleeping/ sleeping too much with depression.. this policy was not told to me when I was scheduling nor was it anywhere on their website. The text reminders said I may get a late/no show fee but not that I would be turned away from

Their DBT program was recommended to me after I completed a partial hospitalization program. I was feeling pretty good and invested in trying the program here, until the end when I asked about the diversity of the program. The woman then proceeded to discuss the staff and clients.. describing how they had a white passing Native staff member. Then listing off the various racial make up of the clients, telling me that there were two black women in the program, one had dark skin and other was light skinned. I found the whole interaction very inappropriate.

Embarking on a PhD is difficult, emotional, and anxiety-inducing for the most brilliant and organized student. After struggling with a significant learning disability throughout my first year, a trusted friend recommended Choices Psychotherapy. Over a year later, I can confidently say that Dr. Belt has not only allowed me to continue pursuing my career, but given me the fortitude and self-discipline to be able to make positive changes across all areas of my life.

Began seeing a psychiatrist I felt was very knowledgeable and was very comfortable with in February 2018. After a few months of being a patient, I called to leave a message that I had lost one of my medications, made it very clear I was NOT seeking an early refill, just wanted the doctor informed that I would be off that medication until it was time for the next refill, as I wanted to make sure there were no adverse effects to suddenly stopping the medication. A receptionist called me back right away after that phone call and said the doctor refilled the medication and I could come get the prescription

This clinic is great. I've been seeing a therapist here for several months and I'm already feeling way more stable and healthy. The waiting area is calm and comfortable, the receptionists are quick and friendly, and the therapists are very dependable and well-learned. There are also cute little sound machines placed all around the clinic to help provide a soothing atmosphere. Definitely check this place out if you're in need of support.
