Meng's Martial Arts of Cincinnati is the original certified Shaolin Wing Chun Kung Fu school in Cincinnati! I implore you to get tested and to be vaccinated when you are able. Please follow the recommended safety guidlines by wearing masks, practicing social distancing, and sanitizing your hands. As a hands-on self-defense training institution, that means everyone.

Master John Lambert began his journey in the Martial Arts in 1956 as a student of Sensei Eugene Fields in the art of Judo. It was under his tutelage that he developed his love of martial arts. It was Sensei Fields who planted the seeds of awareness, humility, and etiquette in his student, and Judo provided a perspective of balance and flow through throwing (Shuai) and grappling (Na).
Michael Dumas is the "Sihing", or "Eldest Brother" of Meng's Martial Arts of Cincinnati. A Certified Second Degree Black Sash, Michael is passionate and highly knowledgeable about martial arts and especially the art of Shaolin Wing Chun. He plays an active role in training and shaping Meng's Martial Arts of Cincinnati's next generation of instructors and students.
Jake has been a student of Master Lambert since the Spring of 2016. As a child he learned self-defense principals and methods from his father, a US Marine Corps Captain. Prior to joining Meng's Martial Arts of Cincinnati, his martial arts experience included 1.5 years of Chen style Tai Chi during graduate school.
Our philosophy is based upon a simple creed: Harmony of Body, Mind & Spirit. To build true confindence through strength in the Body, knowledge in the Mind, honesty in the Heart. To keep friendship with one another and build a strong, happy community. Never fight to achieve selfish ends but to develop might for right!

Master Lambert's approach to teaching is a traditional systems method about self-discipline, mental & physical health, as well as deeper connections to one's spirit, energy, and life philosophy. The focus is on learning martial arts skills to complement your life, not on learning a style to fight or look for trouble. I recommend Master Lambert to people new to martial arts looking to start a habit, practitioners looking to deepen their philosophical approach to martial arts & internalize new techniques, and to experienced martial artists looking to be mentored as they seek their next level of development

I started out looking for something different than just the punching and kicking martial arts school that you can find anywhere. My search led me to Meng's Martial Arts of Cincinnati and Shaolin Wing Chun taught by Master John Lambert. Master Lambert is an excellent teacher and human being. He will teach you to punch and kick, but also will teach you so much more about yourself. Master Lambert's depth of knowledge of martial arts, Shaolin Wing Chun, meditation, and self-defense is second to none. If you are looking for an authentic and genuine experience then this is the place for you

I have personal know and trained with Master John Lambert for close to 20 years. He has a pure intention of teaching Kung Fu the right way. He truely cares about his students and instructors. After many many years in the martial arts He found his current teacher which  he is very loyal too and himself displays an excellence role as a student himself.
Master Lambert is an inspiration to all of us that have excuses on getting older and slowing down. He is in his 80's and still actively trains with the young guys and kicks butt, lol.
Master Lambert is not only full of martial arts knowledge, he

I began my journey with Master Lambert in May 2017 in the free class. I was immediately swept up by his knowledge and compassion and then and there I truly began to embrace the kung fu lifestyle. Four months in I have lost 35 lbs and achieved my first rank of white sash. Master Lambert and his instructors, Sifu's, Paul, Becky, and Mike, are amazing and have made me feel welcome and part of a family. A family that encourages me to look deeper and to push myself to greater heights. I look forward to a lifetime of learning and exploring the depths of Shaolin Wing Chun.

Meng's has what I've always wanted in a martial arts school.
Meng's instructors are very serious and knowledgeable about their art. Master Lambert is an encyclopedia of methods and concepts. Sifu Paul Mason is an expert at honing the technique of his students. They have both impressed me with their personal qualities: Integrity, understanding, humility, compassion, generosity, persistence, consistency-- and humor. After meeting so many would-be teachers with huge ego issues, it was easy to choose the instructors at Meng's; their greatest asset is that they have been trained in the Shaolin art

This is a great school to learn martial arts. The art is beautiful, the instructors are knowledgeable, and the atmosphere that Sifu, Siheng, and the students bring is very welcoming. It doesn't matter if you've had previous experience or if this is your first time learning a martial arts. Everyone is welcome.

Over the years I've looked at a number of martial arts schools. I was unable to find one that aligned with my goals and felt comfortable. After moving to Cincinnati I thought I should try again. I took a free lesson at Meng's Martial Arts of Cincinnati and I knew I had found the perfect place for me. The philosophy, methods, and goals resonated with what my father taught me as a child. I've found Master Lambert and his instructors to be excellent. I believe they truly care about a student's education and development. The other students have been supportive and helpful to someone just getting started

I've been an athlete since middle school, but always wanted to learn something more valuable for myself. I enrolled here to supplement my workouts, and to sum it up, the experience and knowledge gained have been incredible. This is a real deal, full martial arts school. It is so much more than just learning combat. Lessons learned here range from physical to mental and even spiritual, and the bond between students is much akin to a brotherhood.

Literally the greatest martial arts school I've ever attended. I've done martial arts for years and have attended many "McDojos" where they teach you a handful of moves with little to no application in the real world, give you your belt, then send you home.
This class is different!!! The instructor teaches principles and core knowledge that can be used throughout a persons life! This course will literally change you for the better in every aspect if you commit to learning. You will be better able to defend yourself in any situation, learn to be at peace with yourself, learn focus, and a myriad
