My boyfriend and I spent a beautiful weekend at the Shell Beach Inn. Dave was the warmest, kindest host and made us feel right at home. The room was beautifully decorated (by Dave's wife!), clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The pool and fire pit was amazing and Dave provided the best tips for things to do in Pismo AND provided a complimentary bottle of wine to us. We will definitely be back and will be recommending the Shell Beach Inn to all our friends.

Dave and Jodi are absolutely wonderful hosts. We stayed in room 6 and the beds were comfy and meticulously clean. I mean the entire room was decorated wonderfully and payed attention to detail. The toilet and bath was spotless! Wifi is fast and reliable. What more can I say?! I will be staying here again whenever I get the chance to come back to Shell Beach!

Stumbled on this gorgeous lil gem inn absolutely amazing. Dave is awesome the property and room #4 was gorgeous. Couldn't ask for anything more. The pool area was a cool set up and yes the pool was 86 degrees. Highly recommend won't be disappointed. Will be back next month Dave. The wine was amazing.

The Shell Beach Inn is a nice little hidden gem and the customer service that you get from Dave is phenomenal, which is hard to come by nowadays. The rooms are comfy, clean, more than reasonable prices and the location is perfect. Dave was a big help with his restaurant recommendations and let me tell you he was right about every one of them. We will definitely be back.

What a cozy stop on our pacific coast road trip! Staff was super friendly (Thank you Dave for the warm welcome and recommendations) and our room was clean and comfortable. We were only in town for a night and didn't get too much of a chance to explore the area but we passed several restaurants and shops on the same street. The inn also had a great pool area and the beach was a short walk away. Only downside might be the lack of AC but we stayed on a warm night in the middle of July and the multiple fans in the room were more than enough to keep the room cool. We would have stayed longer if

This is honest to God, the first yelp review I have done & it is for a reason. Dave, the owner, spent 30 minutes showing my boyfriend around the whole hotel, and then probably 45 minutes talking to us about great restaurants around town! Such a sweet guy and the renovations look so good! Everything is so clean. This is going to be our new spot! I have never felt an "at home" vibe from a hotel but this is it!!! Dave was super accommodating and friendly when we arrived late on Sunday. Took the time to show us how everything worked in the room and outside by the pool. Our stay from Sunday to Wednesday was awesome and very restful 😊. Dave even suggested the restaurant two blocks away, Zoro's and gave us a coupon for 10% off. Delicious dinner and can back for breakfast. No complaints. Again, I can't stress how wonderful Dave was and our room #3 was very wonderful. Thanks Dave 👍

What a gem this place was! Beautiful and comfortable interior. Very clean. Very affordable rates (I'm on a teacher's budget) and within walking distance of the beach, parks, and excellent restaurants. The owner was incredibly nice and had great recommendations for favorite places and things to do on the app the inn uses, OpenKey. Oh! And they have a heated pool :). I would definitely stay here again. Super thoughtful and accommodating place. Awesome heated pool and hang out area. It was a chilly May night but with a heat lamp and blankets all around we hung all night. I so recommend this place. Thoughtful and accommodating!

I was fortunate enough to stay here just as the owners were opening up after a remodel. I was going to be staying during the week, and the innkeeper just told me to call 30 minutes before I arrived as she had to come in and give me the keys (I was a last minute and late arrival).
The location is beautiful, the grounds are gorgeous, the rooms are super clean and have a real down comforter! Unfortunately, the room doesn't have AC, and this summer week made me miss it. Also, the fan rotation was flipped, and the fan was installed

What an AMAZING place to stay! Dave and Jodie we so welcoming and friendly! The room was beautiful! we stayed in room 4, and there was a bookshelf loaded with great books (I borrowed one) The room was incredible and clean with rose petals on the bed for Valentine's Day! The pool area was also lovely. Jodie had everything we needed and more! We only stayed one night traveling north. We loved it so much that we booked the Suite for our wedding anniversary this Summer. My time at Shore Cliff was nothing short of shear bliss. My family and I were celebrating our daughters 13th birthday. When we arrived, we were blown away with what we had gotten ourselves into. After we turned down the sloping driveway parked, we entered the lobby via automated doors like the ones found at a grocery store. The lobby doesn't have anything out of the ordinary; public computer, tv, sofas and chairs, Pismo Beach and Shore Cliff Hotels shirts, hoodies and hats. The usual. When you stay at the shell beach inn, you should just know that your mind will be at ease because the care and respect you get from the staff are spectacular. Dave and Jodi were very accommodating to our entire family from the beginning to the end. The room keys took some getting used to and were fairly easy. The owner helped instantly when the key did not unlock our room. However, this was solved with an added bonus of the introduction to room keys with our smartphones. No more were we worried about it our room key was on us or not. Great addition! So if you cross my review, don't miss out

We stayed in room #7, so enjoyed a Queen/Double room with a gorgeous brick accent wall. We also enjoyed the heated pool, outdoor heaters, adorable sitting areas in the pool area and right outside our room.

Location, location, location & yes, it is right in Shell Beach proper. Shell Beach is a subset of Pismo. Since this motel is at the Dinosaur Caves Park [no beach access] End, it is right down the street from both the Ocean & area Parks, as well as, the little shops & restaurants that are in that area of Shell Beach...which is undergoing renovation with an odd curvy slow 5-15 mph street.
