The Arkansas River Rim Campground and RV Park is nestled along the Arkansas River in Colorado's "Banana Belt of the Rockies", the only park in the upper Arkansas River Valley that sets adjacent to the Arkansas River. Buena Vista's reputation for rest and recreation is a four-season draw. The rivers and trails offer hikers, bikers, four-wheelers, rafters, hunters, skiers and snowbirds - all the colors of the seasons.
Scenic highways take you to golf courses and gold mines, set in majestic pines. Known as the "Banana Belt of the Rockies", the weather is always spectacular. The dog days of summer boast temperatures in the 70's and 80's with calm cool nights in the 50's. Many have discovered Buena Vista, but we are still a "one stoplight" town, with many fine restaurants, interesting shops, and town activities to engage in.

If not casually enjoying the historical downtown area with it's quaint shops, art galleries and Historical Museum, or pondering Buena Vista's railroad heritage at the Buena Vista Model Railroad Society model railroad exhibit, one might spend time wandering the Arkansas River, fishing the abundant lakes and mountain streams, or climbing a 14,000' mountain peak.

Pulled in early evening and the owner was there to meet us. Took us to our spot, which was nice, even though the park is right off the highway. We got set up with full hookups. Built a fire and sat outside for a bit. Went inside and lo and behold, NO ELECTRICITY!! Tried hooking up to power at the sight next to us. Nothing. Checked our dogbone and there was an error message. Hubby said that the connection on the post was a little loose. Come to find out it blew our transfer switch. Could never catch the owner to let him know. So, we paid for 3 nights for full hookups which we didn’t have. Oh well

Didn't get to stay here (had other arrangements already made), but did use the RV services here. Jeff was very helpful and accommodating. I'm sure he is a great host, given the friendliness he shared with us and we weren't even staying there! Will definitely consider it next time we are in the area.

Jeff was a life saver! Not only did he save the day he saved our Boy Scout camp out. He was able to provide a beautiful spot for 30+ of us to camp for the weekend. The campground and bathrooms are clean and a great place to stay! Jeff the camp owner is very personable and accommodating which made the stay there wonderful! Check it oy if your ever in Buena Vista!

The bathroom and showers were awful. The owner was possibly the rudest man I have encountered. An old grouch. No wonder this was the only place that had availability. Next time if I can’t find any other place I will stay in a parking lot before I deal with that man. This place could be nice. The little trail to the river was really cool. Needs new ownership.

Awesome experience! This was our first ever experience with an rv campground as newbie rv'ers and we couldn't have asked for a better time. The owner was great, friendly and very accommodating. He also had some really great stories!
The campgrounds are beautifully kept and it was super close to the Arkansas river which was amazing. Didn't catch any fish but we're not the best fishers. We will definitely stay here again! Thanks guys!

My dad and I have been coming back here to camp since I was a little kid. We were lucky to find this campground. The owner is warm hearted and fair. He goes out of his way to help anyone and make sure their stay is perfect. The location next to the river is perfect. Every night when you go to bed you can just sit and listen to the river and drift to sleep. As long as this campground is here I will always make this my first stop.
