You may be wondering "why would I talk to a therapist?" Perhaps you are having to deal with depression, anxiety, addictions, sexuality concerns/ TRANsitions or relationship difficulties. Maybe you have begun to recognize that your life isn't working for you the way that you would prefer and choose.
Whatever your circumstances right now, the choice to take time out to discuss your concerns within a therapeutic relationship may provide you with support and challenge enabling you to improve the quality of your life. Therapy provides you with a safe, confidential and private space in which to explore a specific concern or personal issue.

Let me first of all give you some information about myself and my therapy practice. I am graduate of the University of St. Thomas with a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology. I have also completed postgraduate work in Family Psychology. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. But more importantly, I have over twenty five years experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families.
Not at all. People who ask for help know when they need it and have the courage to reach out. Everyone needs help now and then. In our work together, I'll help you explore and identify your strengths and how to implement them to reduce the influence of the problems you are facing. The difference is between someone who can do something, and someone who has the training and experience to do that same thing professionally.
We all know kids who can't sit still, who never seem to listen, who blurt out inappropriate comments, or don't follow instructions no matter how clearly you present them. While it's normal for kids to forget their homework, daydream during class or act without thinking, inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity are also signs of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or ADHD.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT is a short-term, problem-focused form of behavioral treatment that helps people see the difference between beliefs, thoughts and feelings, and free them from unhelpful patterns of behavior. CBT is grounded in the belief that it is a person's perception of events - rather than the events themselves - that determines how he or she will feel and act in response.
