Rice Funeral Home was established in 1940 by Roger A. Rice (1903 - 1964), who left a position at Norton Company to venture onto his own in business. He graduated from the New England Institute in Boston in 1939, and began the funeral home at its current location at 300 Park Avenue in Worcester. In 1948, his son Arthur F. Rice (1926 - 2001) graduated from New England Institute and joined his father in the funeral home.

Cremation is a popular option for many people for a wide variety of reasons. You can have a traditional funeral service before a cremation or a memorial service at any time with or without the urn present. You can keep the urn, scatter the cremated remains or have the urn buried in a grave or columbarium.
A list of funeral costs is mandated by the Federal Trade Commission. Every funeral home is required to make this list available upon request for comparison by the consumer. Unlike many other funeral homes we provide ALL of our prices online in order to give you straightforward and full disclosure of our costs.

My mom passed away in October, unexpectedly. One of the most hardest moments of mine and families life. Rice funeral home staff were very attentive, their services exceeded my expectations. Celeste and Roger are patient and caring, very experienced at what they do. My siblings and I felt comfortable asking all the uncomfortable questions, without feeling rushed. I felt at ease in my initial call, Roger explained what the next steps were, was very sympathetic. Celeste also handled all the necessary paperwork, she worked so diligently. I couldnโt have asked for a better experience. 100% recommend

In the last year I lost both my grandparents. Celeste and Roger went above and beyond to make the services special. My family is Vietnamese (speaks little English). They had the price list in Vietnamese which was very helpful to my family. Celeste and Roger were very accommodating to our family needs for the services. They are genuine, and really treat you like family. Canโt say enough! Thank you.

With our dad passing unexpectedly we had to find a funeral home fast, Celeste, the woman who helped us in the funeral home, was very helpful and we felt she genuinely cared about what we wanted for our father. We felt she did everything she could to make sure things went smoothly and everything was taken care of within a reasonable time. When it came to the viewing she displayed our father perfectly and accurately, he looked very peaceful at rest. We really appreciate what they did for us. Thank you again for the help you gave us.
